How ? Like how ? Is there a way that can happen in a case . Is case crushed there ?

That makes me want to cry, but it also really irritates me because I’ll bet it was shipped fully tuned up. That means it was at full tension on the neck/headstock as it was being transported. Les Paul headstocks are notoriously weak. Any odd fall or hard movement even when it’s in the case can cause it to break. I speak as the owner of a Les Paul with a repaired/ broken headstock. Hope there’s a positive resolution to this. That’s a beautiful guitar.

OUCH !!!!

I got tears in my eyes.

RIP ML R8

motherfucker.....that makes me sick bro....how? is the case indented or shipping box?

The guitar moved in the case with momentum going in the direction of the headstock. Look at the smushed up fabric lining under and at the end of the headstock. It’s like headstock dug in and dragged the fabric causing it to get bunched up like that. Guitars MUST be packed to allow for zero movement.

Seller is a good guy - nothing nefarious going on here. He detuned it before shipping. He packed well (not over the top, but definitely sufficient in my opinion).

The corner of the box is crushed but not severely. I just think this thing took a serious fall

This.
I had a Ibanez saber hit from the bottom so hard it knocked the trem off the trem posts. With Tension on the strings too.
Guitar went half way through the case at the bottom and took a chip out of the body.
Insane to think how hard it would have to be dropped to do that.

My thought upon first glance is essentially a combination of poor case design and being dropped with the headstock end of the case straight down.

If there was extra room (like even an inch) in the case at the end of the headstock you could drop it like that and nothing would happen at all because the body would support the weight.
