Zachman, do you ever buy new stuff? The stuff you posted has been the same for some years :)

Never have been a gear flipper, re: my personal stuff. I find something I like and I keep it. I've had my main LP since new in '79, the Boogie Coli, I got new in '86. I've had the cabs for 20 years. I've switched rack cases, and such over the years, but such adventures are not my idea of fun. One day, I'll switch the current rack case for a Kriz Kraft style case. I have a selection of smaller gear, for club gig scenarios etc., but prefer the Big rig for versatility and tone.

The rig and the selection of amps was/is deliberate, and so far-- I haven't really had the need/desire to "upgrade". I've changed out a couple of pedals and added the Tri-Stereo chorus, but other than that, I'll switch out the amps and use different guitars for different things, but the re: rig design and selection, I couldn't really be happier.

I own and operate a guitar store, so I purchase new stuff all the time, but mostly for inventory- not personal use.

Big ENGL fanboy here. I've got a FB100 and I love it. Best amp I've played for the brootz. How does it compare to the Savage?

If I ever come to Hawaii I have GOT to track your store down! I'm really looking forward to the H8000FW! I have an Eclipse and a couple of the old H910s that I had one repaired and refurbished and the other is off for repair right now. I also used to have an H3500 for a short period of time. I love the Eventide sounds!

How do you like the pitch shifting patchs/algorithms in the H8000FW? Specifically the micropitch, and the dual H910s? I see that Eventide advertises a newer generation of formant correctling pitch shifting in the H7600 and H8000 series called the Ultrashifter? How is it? Better? Cleaner? I'm hoping the H8000FW will do a good impersonation of the character of the pitch shifting in my old H910s and hoping the new "ultrashift" stuff that Eventide brags about is like the greatest micropitch ever!

Love it. The left speaker and the right are exactly 1.5" from the rack. Head is centered on top of the rack. Everything matches.

Man after my own heart

Absolutely, send me a PM before you come out, so I can make sure to be there and let you test drive the rig.

Imo, when it comes to pitch shifters, Eventide is the best choice. That said, usually when I am going for that Landau sort of thing, I am using the PCM81 for Dual detune, the TSC for chorus, and the Eventide for reverbs, or delays, or the Virtual rack, or combined Tri-Stereo chorus model w/ the real Dytronics. The older gear definitely has a sonic character about it, and as far as I'm concerned, it's all good.

Awesome! Thank you for the input! I'm usually going for the 80's rock, 90's EVH thing with the Eventide pitch shifting/detuning. I've been very happy with my Eclipse, Pitchfactor pedal, and H910s. I'm really excited to get the H8000FW in my rack! I'm also looking forward to trying out the Virtual rack and all of the flavors of delays and reverbs in the H8000.

There is so much in the H8000. I've had mine since 2006 and haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what's in this thing. You will be guaranteed to have tonal bliss.

KILLER reverbs in the H8000. I use the EMT plate a lot for the VH thing

My typical meat & potatoes tone

Yes they do. Except in some cases we drag the whole thing out to a gig. I did my last gig, minus the 800 B cab. Had to go wet/dry with the Marshall and the Mesa! My band laughed at the overkill.

A CCV is on my short list of amps to get, and yes-- Rockinchippy and Psychodave have some KILLER amps.

I don't know how you guys can mentally handle having so many amps. I'd lose my fucking mind.
