I actually think what happened was that Dinesh decided this is how he was going to launch his nonexistent career in music....according to him he's been "a professional guitar player for over 30 years"

I triple dog dare one of you to sign up for private guitar lessons with him

Here’s a partial resume of his musical accomplishments. It isn’t nothing, but I expected more from such a build up…
Maybe he’s a killer blues player, I don’t know. I’m certainly not going to listen to even one iota of blues music to find out.

oh I've got a treat for you buddy boy

I see your rebuttal and raise you an existential question: would SRV step into that doomed helicopter, knowing what would happen, given the choice of that or being forced to listen to this?

you tell me

That was about on par with some guy who'd be on a business vacation in Austin with his Strat and mess up the whole jam trying to shoehorn all his Stevie licks while simultaneously denying everyone else on stage a chance to solo before he got kicked off the stage after extended song #2. I know a few guys like that and even when they play rhythm they can't help but stomp all over your toes. I call it "Stevie Ray Wrong".

ok but can they dance like Dinesh?

Dinesh was clearly not the right person to be dialing in the IIC+ (fixed!) at Sweetwater. Now we have more evidence.

They should have had Nick Bowcott who works (worked?) at Sweetwater.

I'm still hoping Euge gets one to demo.

Euge will get his hands on one eventually and then after his video we will all lust after it lol

This place cracks me up

Me too. @japetus’s comment about drones had me in splits.

I’m also thinking of the Mission Impossible scenes as someone is lowered into Mesa Boogie’s manufacturing unit to sprinkle some kind of powder on components because Fluff didn’t get a free amp.

well Fluff did get his EBMM signature guitars. somehow. I mean, Petrucci, Lukather, Lee, Morse, Myung, St. Vincent,...Fluff, Rabea. Two of these names are not like the others. IMO

I do think youtubers should get one to demo so that the product is marketed to that demographic too to generate interest and revenue and introduce an iconic design to a presumably younger audience- it would be weird not to.

But the 2c+ is late boomers' high gainer among other things.

The more I think of it, Gibson did exactly what I'd expect. They showed what the reissue of an iconic amp can do based on what the OG was designed to do 40yrs ago. They missed the Metallica reference but that's different to usual youtubers youtubing chuggy riffs.

Regarding Euge,, other than his subjective comments of how an amp feels and sounds in the room, for me the end result usually shows that his bad boi and cab and mic chain sound similar enough but usually better than whatever his demoing. They're like what not to buy vids..
Maybe he can slave a 2c+ through his Marshall and run it with this Marshall 412..

I think Euge does a great job showing what an amp can do; and because of the bad boy, we know what tone he likes best which provides a good comparative context for non-Marshall demos...e.g.,

and vs Marshall

@rsm, he does do a great job and he's also my fav bc the commentary can be educational and informative and I prefer the music he demos with.
though I'm not sure if it would be preferable to mic up a different cab for his non-Marshall clips. Not sure if he does but didn't think so.
Bc if not, the same cab and mic chain will make everything sound closer bar some nuances and for me, through his cab and recording chain the bad boi always comes on top. I learn a few things about the amps he demos and don't want to buy them.. maybe the old 5150 but that's it.

Thinking about the absolutely inexcusable clusterfuck Dinesh caused with the IIC+ reissue makes me wonder something... So you know how the Recto 2-Channel Reissue is coming soon, right?

Well, Dual Rectos are known for awesome high gain tones IF you use a boost pedal, or if you don't, dialing the amp just right and playing super tightly, etc.

What do you guys bet Dinesh has ALREADY shot a whole ad campaign's worth Dual Recto Reissue videos with no boost pedals anywhere in sight, exclusively in Orange Vintage mode, playing only ES-335's or Strats or some shit, nothing but unpracticed boomer leads.

Get ready for Destroyed Reissue Reputation Round 2 coming soon.
They have. My SW rep told me months ago that they had shot the Dual Rec Reissue videos with Gibson (and presumably Dinesh). So unless they never put those out, or reshoot new ones, it's already in the can. So I'd expect more weirdo shit.

so we can expect to hear cleans and blues tones from the Dual Rec reissue...

Very interesting choice of words there as it can’t be coincidence that can is slang for toilet

Welp... at least it'll be funny.
