I'm getting 11.95V DC on Pin 2 and 3 on Herbert and VH4. Pin 7 reads 0.

You are counting wrong:

Pin 6 is 7 o clock

Pin 1 is 9 o clock

Pin 4 is 10 o clock

Pin 2 is 12 o clock

Pin 5 is 2 o clock

Pin 3 is 3 o clock

Pin 7 is 5 o clock

Looking to the back side of the amp

Got you Papa.

Pins 3 and 7 read 11.95V DC on Herbert and VH4.

Good Luck to you Mizati20. :)

Here is the pinout for you guys just in case.
On Herbert and VH4, they have the notch at the top.

E-mail him with your name, address and serial number.
He will take care of you from there. It's 11:34 PM now in
Bad Steben, so I'm sure he done for the night. ;)

Your welcome man, we've all been there, if not with a Diezel with some other kind of amp! The reality is there just aren't nearly as many people as there used to be educated in the ways of electronics specifically amps etc., due to our society being mostly if it breaks throw it away and buy a new one as a whole... people USED to fix things.

Peter will take good care of you, it doesn't sound like a big deal and I'm sure a good local tech, or possibly even you if you have soldering skills can take care of it!

Best of luck and let me know if there's anything else I can add... even though Mark did all the heavy lifting on this one!

Sounds like Peter nailed when he said that the wrong piece of equipment was pulling on the phantom power and screwed up the regulator. You didn't get any kind of lights or anything on your equipment that you were trying to use with it? You'd think 8 volts would at least get some lights or what not to dimly glow. :dunno:

Here's a random question - Have you tried using a 5-pin MIDI cable?

I know that with my personal setup (VH4 controlled by an MPX-R1), using a 7-pin cable won't actually deliver the Phantom power to the pedal. For Phantom power to work, you've got to use a 5-pin cable.

Also, Diezel amps are more sensitive to the quality of the MIDI cable used than other amps. When i originally got my VH4, I thought that MIDI was screwed up, but it turns out that the weak link was actually the MIDI cable that I was using - and the same cable had always worked just fine with all of my other MIDI gear.

Ya man, 5 people have asked me that... but it's the same setup I used with my VH-4 3 days ago... and the same setup I used with my first Herbert that was actually a bit older than the one I have now... it's super simple... brand new 7-pin MIDI cable with gold connectors, and a Rocktron MIDI mate... pretty damn simple... there's def. something up with the amp... it's not the hardware, I plugged it into my buddies rig just to make sure...
