I know. It was kind of a joke. Even the pics I have at 40,000 feet don't really show the curvature to well. It also appears to me though to be more pronounced with my naked eye, vs a pic. But yeah, the two pics I posted from my trip prove nothing

@VonBonfire You don't have to believe in a flat earth to believe the Bible. The Bible is not a western mindset modern science textbook. It was written by men inspired by God in the language of their day. It is still true in its own way. A spherical earth should not shake your belief or faith in Jesus or God.

Well mate I'm also a very strong Christian and it should not shake his belief in the Bible. The problem is the way he's interpreting it.

The official church stance on earth's shape is "we don't know". It's all educated guesses speculation, on both sides of the discussion.

The shape of the planet has zero bearing on anything faith related. It's just a topic for discussion that people strangely cling to as sort of a secondary religion.

For an example, I'll link a site supposedly debunking Eric Dubay's 200 proofs. A lot of their "debunking" is just listed as "confirmation bias" yet they constantly do the same thing, making circular arguments, trying to make their debunking case look legit.

I think it is what happens when people mix politics, science and religion to form opinions on them, instead of looking at them independently.
Which is fine to do if people chose so, but I do think that is where the divide is

I just assumed he and Acceptance were playing devil's advocate.

If my characterizing flat earthers in a less than positive light offended anyone, my apologies. I honestly thought it was just an argument for argument's sake. I do find it absurd though, but WTF do I know ?
