It's out of the extended range of vision of the telescope.
So a telescope that's available to the public for purchase (and fairly inexpensive) such as the Celestron Nexstar 5SE that can zoom in enough to see the polar caps on mars doesn't have the range of vision to see a ship a few hundred miles away...

I said social control, not construct — IE it shouldn't matter what the social consequences of a given theory are.
sorry I misread. Control or construct. Still doesn't change that some of it is based on garbage science.

I'll look into it, but as you guys always point out, there are actual atmospheric effects dependent on weather conditions, particulates and so on. My weather app even gives a "visibility" metric.

They still have "debunkings" all over the net for anti-vax claims. Do you also believe that was safe and effective? How could so many people be in on a conspiracy and no one find out?
If you're talking COVID vax I believe there was not enough testing to know all the the possible short and long term side effects; some of which could be lethal, because it was rushed out to the public too quickly. Debunkings of anti-vax claims are based on incomplete science/testing

If you're talking vaccines in general, if there has been enough research and testing to show any side effect are negligible then in all likelihood it's safe.

In both cases it's up to individual risk assessment if you get one or not.

You can literally map stars moving across the sky and predict accurately when they’ll be in a specific place. There is literally zero doubt we are spinning.

This sums up my feeling on someone categorically saying earth is a spinning ball. Poor perspective, incomplete testing. It's just a theory, a very old theory based on pagan religious belief.

You can account for the refractive index caused by such things. It wouldn't correct for what you would see visually but would account for what you would see. You would need to take certain measurements and use them to calculate and determine what you would expect to see in a given scenario; i.e. on a curve vs a flat surface. One of the calculations would line up with your observation.

That's quite the stretch comparing globe earth with thousands of years of evidence to back it up to a vaccine rushed out with minimal testing.

There is not thousands of years of science evidence on globe earth, lol. All the "thousands of years" are mostly just pagan heliocentric thought i.e they worshipped the sun.

Anyway, my work is doing some sort of an event with service animals and it's starting now. I'm going to go see the doggos for a bit. I'll be back later...

And there goes the last shred of rational thought.
I'm out except to post science memes.

You realize the whole scientific process started around the same time protestantism did, about 1500-1700? Kind of interesting that christianity's greatest heresies and science all blossom at the same time. So much for your "thousands of years". The observations of greek pagans may have some semblance of that process, but as you know it today those people were basically just informed by their religion i.e sun worship. Not sure why that's so hard for you to grasp.
