Proof there is a God

but not under the same premise - being the "holy position" of the leadership and clergy.
and it's happened substantially more in Catholic and Orthodox churches.
Yes that's true but some Protestant ministers have done it.

You guys never established that the Bible, which you claim is your ultimate religious authority (Even though there are like thousands of various denominations due to various interpretations), precludes the traditions of the orthodox church. Or did I miss it? I saw something about idolatry, which I know the Bible does prohibit, but I haven't seen any other specifics. "Venerating" Mary?

I'm not engaging with the "luciferian" instigator any longer.
But I will address the issue at hand for the group.

The issue of this debate WAS NEVER whether or not to adhere to church tradition.
The issue was whether or not to adhere to it if it is directly contradicted by the holy bible.

mary being sinless
transubstantiation (the idea the the Lords supper is the actual physical body and blood of the Lord)
praying to saints
having relics of them

is all 100% against the direct teachings of scripture
and both @Thumbpicker and I clearly confirmed this by producing numerous texts.

@VonBonfire on the other hand, neve did. He just appealed to "church tradition".

Don't trust tradition folks, trust Jesus and His word.

can you produce one single bible verse for anything you claim
c'mon man, just one.

clear, assertive corroborating evidence.

You just assert that the Bible "directly" teaches what you say. Then when I point out it's not as clear as you claim, you have a hissy and won't talk to me anymore. 😥

Romans 3:

“There is none righteous, not even one;
11There is none who understands,
There is none who seeks for God;
12All have turned aside, together they have become worthless;
There is none who does good,
There is not even one.”

He called me a cannibal, basically associating himself with pagan romans, who called early believers the same thing because we believe it is the actual body and blood of Christ. So you see their theology is basically the same you'd find in the pagan realm. And then they follow it up with insults and mockery of the saints. They aren't bearing good fruit.

Interestingly, they, the Romans, also accused the early believers of incest because they referred to each other as "brother" and "sister" because they were brothers and sisters in Christ.

I'll glady answer any of your questions since you can actually debate, lol.

One thing to keep in mind is these two are sola scriptura but much of protestantism doesn't even align with "solely scripture" metholdologies.

imagine a world where @Thumbpicker and I are being accused of pagan practices and beliefs and this dude says this in the same paragraph.

"because we believe it is the actual body and blood of Christ"

where is that in the bible again?

I woke this morning and realized this thread had spun completely out of control.
The OP was seeking Proof of God and all we managed to do was debate and pick at each other in a fashion that is borderline unbecoming.
I apologize to @311splawndude who originated the post, I'm more than sure this is not what He wanted to see.

No need to apologize. It is all very interesting. I've read every single post. The thread WAS somewhat created in jest as I mentioned. I figured it would get contentious. But in no way was it created as a platform for guitar players to get on the verge of hate towards each other. Nor was it created in an attempt to find final absolute truth. My only input is that I don't think you guys (society) can say "that's it, argument over, I win". That's not how it works.

Well personally anyone that is a luciferian is not someone I want to get to know very well. I will tell you what the Bible says but devil worship goes to far.

to further the point during the last supper
Jesus wasn't implying that He would eat and drink His own flesh.

It's simply a symbolic representation of the new covenant.

Matthew 26:

26Now while they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it. And giving it to the disciples, He said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” 27And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; 28for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. 29But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

We're just having an online debate, not planning a trip together. I think he's using it as an excuse not to address my points anyways.

that's a fair point. While I do think it got heated at times, I don't think anyone has been overly offensive. I did not like the statement about me needing to be "rapped across the mouth" and If it were not for the grace of Christ in my life, as a younger man, I would have responded much differently.

I am honestly eager to share the good news of the gift of grace in my life.
I love Van Halen
I love good Movies
I love craft beer
and I love theology and Jesus

if you ever want to talk about anything or have any questions about any of this, hit me up brother.

If I felt you were genuine in your inquisitions, I'd be more than happy to engage.
but you already said you weren't a Christian and a "luciferian"

are you interested in Christianity from the perspective of wanting to obtain eternal life?
or are you just interested to learn how you can persecute?
