PSA: "Who is the real Larry?" thread is live

i think theres at least 5 guys here that own one other than dan, its why im confused why we never hear or see these things ever.
The price, wait time and the fact that the builder is a fucking creepy weird dude, among other things may be a factor.

Not that I'm anyone but after reading these threads I wouldn't play one of his amps in public because I wouldn't associate myself with the creep.

Y'all know what's strange? I remembered something else that Kitty Hawk sold around that time.

The Kitty Hawk DINO. Probably just a coincidence because I can't imagine that the German dung beetle would lie to us or that he would forget one of his "babies" or that he would name his flagship amp after a Shitty Hawk preamp. Or would he? 😱

these guys already have the amp though?? id think paying that much and waiting that long, plus the fact if you even know what a larry is you are probably a gear head on forums or youtube or somewhere, youd at least want to post a picture of the thing. lets see these amps larry owners

Funny how all of the shit talkers in the thread have no skin in the game with Larry. Just talking trash to talk trash. Gotta love the inter webs of ToAnZ.

Pretty sure those guys don't minge with the great unwashed masses.

Well, the preacher has spoken.

One mystery after another o_O 😄

But due to the contributor's 'nice choice of words' I prefer this time to let you guys die stupid 😝

'Friendly guys' are welcome to PM me and will get a detailed answer 🤗

Just this much info - and only so that one of you doesn't possibly commit suicide out of frustration and sadness - and once again Larry would be to blame for not wanting to give anything away 😄

So - I had already built my very first own amp in 1988, but it was still called 'Dinosaur'

[2 photos deleted - reason: most of you don't deserve to see my photos]

It was around this time that I started designing for Kitty Hawk.
However, I never had a full-time job there, but have been there only 1 to 2 times a month for a few days.
I always did the actual intellectual work for this company at home.

And my very first 'big' DINO amp was born on January 8th 1992
Here the name 'Dinosaur' was already shortened to 'DINO'
It's the DINO 802

Yes, as the technically educated of you can clearly see, back in 1992 still with Marshall/Dagnall irons, not yet with brushed stainless steel chassis, but simply galvanized regular sheet steel, but of course already with LCR electrolytic caps and NOS RFT EL34's

But by that time, I had already quit working for Kitty Hawk

Well, since 1992 I had already called my amps 'DINO'

And now, my dearest cetanu, you can prove your Google skills and find out when Kitty Hawk first introduced the 'DINO preamp'

What year did you stop installing the back plates ?

The British Purist & Rock Wizard models never had a grille on the back

And to this day these amp models do have none.

There was only one exception upon customer request prior to SBlue's order.

I had 2 grills made at the time and just wanted to make SBlue happy...

... but didn't find the second grille in time before FedEx came to pick up the amp 🤷‍♂️
