sounds good with you playing it! I don't think that tone would work for me, but it's fun to listen to you play it

Im pretty sure that you could work with this amp. There's a lot of things that you can do with it and there are more tones in it then I captured!
I just set it for stun lol :D

All the best!!

You have to make a mid-gained, old Marshall type clip for us old guys.

I cant now because I don't have the amp anymore :aww:

But the amp can do it no problem. All you have to do is set it to the low gain channel, crank the volume and pipe through greenies! Killer tone for sure!

after listening to it again, I hear a lot of VH quality to the sound.

It has that Vibe Dave for sure!! If I had my H30 cab im sure it would have been a lot closer to the VH thing. It's like VH with a modern edge! (i think Dan said that! )

Hey Ralph,

Thanks for putting the clip together. The high gain stuff sounds good, like the tightness and quick attack I am hearing. A bit too "metal" sounding for me. When the gtr volume is rolled back, I didnt dig that much. It sounds like a high gain metal amp with the gain rolled back (still aggressive). I like it to go into a more AC DC crunch.

Gary told me its got some Wizard / VHT to it....so it can't be too bad. :)

Oh George.
You would love this thing I'm absolutely sure of it! It has all the tightness of the Wizard and more gain but more "full" sounding while retaining that VERY FAST attack!!
Great amp, when more people play 'em, Mike will be a very busy guy!!

Ralph,

Great clip and playing.

I really liked the sound but you cant hear everything from just a clip.

I assume the amp is not compressed and not dark as a bogner, right??

way cool, and mucho thanks for the dry clip!

i wasn't digging some of the clips on the Fortin site, but these have restored my interest in the amp!

you rock Ralph!

I liked certain qualities of this amp. The upper mid honk is nice, very Marshallish. Seemed to be pretty tight sounding but... my main issue is that either it was too compressed, had too much gain dialed in, or the OD is very thin. So i didn't like it too much. Reminded me of a cheap amp with a SD1 or something. Not being mean, just honest.

Hello and thanks for listening!

You really cant tell everything from a clip for sure. The amp is not as compressed as a Bogner and the amp is on the dark side but you can definitely brighten it up with presence control. There are other clips that you can check out on Mikes site http://www.fortinamps.com

all the best!

YOU ROCK MORE! Thanks brother!!

I thought the tone of the amp would be great for some really heavy stuff. No its not super smooth and has a bit of hair to it and for some riffs..... in a mix it sounds like it would cut like mo fo.

In all honesty its hard to tell definatively from a clip that was just done real quick. Id like to hear one in person. I think it would cover some ground with that attack and touch of hair and growl that the Bogner wont.

Hey redrol!

I definitely had the gain up high and I set the amp for stun because like my moniker suggests, I like gain lol!! With that said, this amp is not as compressed as most high gainers and remains tight as hell even at UnGodly volumes! The thiness you are hearing is more then likely pilot error on my part because of the way I set the amp. The bass was at 3 oclock and probably should have been up more and there is also a resonance control that I had at 3 o clock as well. I set the amp up like I would for teh amp to sit in a mix and Had I bothered to turn the bass and resonance up a bit, which I should have, it would have fatened up the tone 10 fold. I also appreciate the hell out of you being honest, so no worries there!!
Mike has more clips on his site that you can check out!! i

Finally got around to listen to the dry clip...and I actually prefer that one to the sauce clip. The gain hang is dope, didn't dig the rolled back hang too much.
But for 2500 I'd guess it'll sell 200 units out of the gate without any doing. Not that I know anything about amp sales. :)

In the clip you did a chord progression that VH does kinda like in "girl gone bad". Once I heard it I though of that VH bootleg where he is in the studio and is just playing cool shit and different versions of songs for 1984 album.

The amp sounds really cool. I would love to hear it in person.

You definitely will hear it in person Dave!! We might setup an ampfest and I'll try and get the Mike and Bones to make an appearance :D

Hey Ralph, send me that unit for eval. I'll send it back when I'm fishished checking it out.

Man that tone is kickin my ass! I really think that suits your playing Ralph.. It seems more Marshally sounding than your normal Boogie tone, and i think im finding i prefer your tone when you use more Marshally sounding amps!!

You have that sick style like VH meets Lynch with a bit o Sykes thrown in for good measure!! Very inspiring!!

I think that you have great ears because what you wrote is prety spot on. What I also like about this amp is that you can dial some of the hair out if you want to.
