It was 22, but there were several units on the rear rail as well, oh, and this one was actually my duplicate spare, I had two complete rolling units to gig.

OK, spent more time with this tonight. First I connected it to the app and updated the firmware. I also changed it to true bypass. This helped with keeping it in a parallel loop bypassed. They come with the DSP bypass on for tails.
In the loop of my Recto, turning down the direct and keeping delay at 99, I was able to get some better tones. I found a way to at least make it usable without comb filtering. I was able to get a better mix by messing with the mix on the back of the amp, that I usually never change. I did get it to work properly in the parallel loop, but still had issues getting enough volume out of it when compared to bypass. The bypass was always louder.
Next I put it in a parallel mixer pedal after the amp (after loadbox, before being reamped). This worked better because I could control the level of the parallel loop. I still messed with it for awhile, but was able to balance it better. I could probably get it better if I were going to keep it like that permanently and really dial it in. I kind of want to try to wire it into my big rack with the Samson SM-10, but I didn't feel like messing with it, lol.
I think as long as you keep it in a parallel mixer where you can control the volume of the loop, you would be OK with using the 2290p in parallel by using the direct at 0 and delay at 99, which is basically killdry mode. You also need to put it in true bypass mode in the app.
I want to try the same thing with my SDE-3000D here in a few weeks to verify that it is indeed analog dry though.
All of this was basically about the connections and verifying if the 2290p is analog dry through. I really didn't talk about the tone. I definitely think it sounds great. It is very musical, and the chorus, flanger, and delay tones all sound great. I do think running it in series is very transparent. I am very sensitive to digitizing messing with the tone and dynamics, and this is one of the most transparent I have experienced. I think it sounds great, but it is definitely not analog dry through.
1) was able to see holdsworth use that rig at a few shows in socal and LA as he lived in Tustin and bothered to drag the whole enchilada out locally. and let me tell you it was peak allan in all of his glory. when he played in that era with the mark III juice extracted and gary husband on drums it was more like a crazy alien jazz rock show in intensity.

i can’t leave out the other tone life lesson i received from the texas leviathan. sitting at ground zero front row, on his side of the stage at the coach house in san juan capistrano for the ah via musicom tour was total 3D immersion.
again seeing one of my heroes in peak form technically and when his tone was in the zone! his “rack” was basically his echoplex and mxr delay. like landau and holdsworth, hearing him live and the magic of being in the room surrounded by their tones is something that the recordings never seem to fully capture.
Thanks so much for the response, really helpfulYes indeed, for my purposes the SP sounds great, great sounding comp...like that it has the internal settings and the blend control.....lots of great demos out there with it(like the MT vids)....I only use it for cleans(Studio Preamp).. I have no experience with the Keeley.....It's an original DC-2 which I put after the comp, it has it's unique flavor of Chorus....the Roland RSP-550 actually has a good version of the Dimension chorus....I have plenty of mods, I don't really need more but lol....here we are....I like the idea of a dedicated unit for some duties.
i was an ej fan before tones came out, when his first guitar player interview in 1982 with jas obrecht mentioned playing the solo on christopher cross’ minstrel gigolo. my sister had that album and when i checked it out i was sold.never saw him play that intro before, killer.
it’s the power to precision tune effects at a higher level of sound quality than pedals afford me. don’t get me wrong i love certain analog pedals, and gap keeps closing, but the multifx digital stuff is still not as clear or big sounding to my ears as the rack counterparts.Agreed, racks still rule. They also look bitchin.
Whose rig is that ? I'm slightly jealous !
My basement rig will soon grow 4U. I'm waiting for a Brunetti Mille preamp and an old Mesa Midi Matrix in the mail... Pix will follow eventually.
