Rant - Rick Beato is a douchecake

I don't think you have to be a Trump hater to be an idiot lol
Plenty of room on both sides for idiot assholes.
 
Pretty funny this came up. I just saw him yesterday at the Marietta GC. Heard his voice in the background and instantly recognized it. Seemed just like any regular guy hanging out and talking gear. I think his video's for the most part are pretty good and he definitely doesn't come across like he thinks he's all that. But I have to remember we live in an age where if anybody shows knowledge and intelligence in their field and speaks about it with confidence, people who feel threatened by that have to destroy them. Lol.

His top twenty drum intros had some amazing omissions though. Most folks in the comments were, where the hell is Stargazer and Where Eagles Dare?
 
You are really, really wrong.
The amount of stuff you could learn from Rick is amazing if you don't have much of a music education.
You can make your choices about your directions but what you learn from him can be used pretty much anywhere.
And no, you have no idea how a pompous arrogant sounds like... but you can always re_read your post and find that out.

Yeah I commented on that thread. I mean "Over the Mountain"? That said, Rick seems to be about Top 20 in the sense of recognizable outside of musician's ears. He's a radio guy and he has made it pretty clear that the 80's metal scene isn't really his thing so he has a huge decade and a half gap of material he is ignoring. As for the guy himself, he doesn't really bug me either. I have enjoyed a few of his vids and just skip over him playing jazz guitar because it really isn't my jam.

i totally agree, ive watched a couple of his live streams though and somehow a discussion about string gauge turns into trump bashing and he aint having it.
 
The guy has a million plus subscribers so he must be doing something right. I personally dont have a problem with his videos but if I did I would just move along and watch something else. Simple as that. My advice would be find what you actually like and watch it.
 
If you had watched a few of his vids, you would have known that he does not come from a rich family and is not some privileged white guy.
I think he is a good guy and knows a lot.
I guess you just want to stir up a hornet's nest and watch the mayhem.
 
I quit watching Beato's videos when he tried to tell me Eddie Kramer didn't engineer any Led Zeppelin albums. People should do their research before they try to rewrite history.

It’s stupid to get that upset over someone on the internet. Turn it off. Go outside. Play guitar. Go for a hike in the woods. Read a book. There are so, so many better things you can do with your time than getting that upset over the internet.

Hell I don't know shit about electronic music, but Kraftwerk, I though there is no lower than trance and techno, but this heroin bitch nodding and mumbling about "bad guy" is annoying as fuck.

This drum break is legendary. Absolutely amazing in feel and vibe. Not to mention the flawless production of the track. You seem to have something against Steely Dan. We don't have to all like the same things. But ultimately, if you don't like this drum break you have no taste, and disgust me.
