My Wife I were dating, and she had MTV, so we would watch HEADBANGERS BALL together.Definitely two of my biggest influences
So that's a big compliment to me!

I remember seeing King Diamond's video for Welcome Home for the 1st time. I loved it but my Wife said he sounded perverted to sing about his grandma Andy was badass too. So, I went backwards for all Kings other albums and Merciful Fate etc.
That was about 35 yrs ago
Solo #2....this 180 bpm track is soul crushing. But I'm committed to getting across the finish line even as I throw up
one more solo section to go, but its almost 1 minute long....so stay tuned to point and laugh and thank you all that have listened and provided feedback. it helps with the motivation to keep practicing and playing
heck yeah you are killing at 180!
FINAL ENTRY:
Wolfpoon - The Hunt for the Hairy Muff Begins
180 bpm wins, I lose lol....my brain is mush at this point. This is as good as its getting cause I have to move on to other stuff
It was fun, I definitely pushed my boundaries big time. Thanks for the absolutely killer drum track dan! until the next one

sounds killer man! I totally get it, playing fast can suck, but it also pushes you to try new stuff! Killer track
I'm working on my submission at the moment...
man I just thought you had a nice touch with the pick - because the tone is fantastic and that touch is part of it. But hey man I get it, the constant want for improving so you are in the minute details of every nuance. That is the beautiful thing about playing and gear, the opportunity to continually work on what is in your headdude thank you very much for the kind words, but I'm having to keep gain up to a level where my fretting hand can do most of the work. really trying to work the picking hand in there but it just strains out after a point.
the other really obnoxious thing is that there are things I'll write to this track when I have it slowed down that sound so killer...but then I speed it up and they are just NOT HAPPENING!
I can definitely feel myself improving, which is terrific, but I hate when I have to adjust what I wanna play because of ability. super duper annoying but clearly its highlighting things that need work so its good be pushed outside of my comfort zone.
The dude at the murfreesboro road oil change joint said the same thing. I didn't believe him either.they wouldn't even let me play the porta potty waiting line at the rural county fair on the outskirts of Nashville

Agreed, although you and Nashville both are way more "controlled" and machine-gun with your alternate picking lines and it gives me something to aspire to
I'm really good at the staccato rhythm thing, and can obviously play fast lead stuff too, but my leads always lean towards the "train barely staying on the rails" type of chaotic wildness, and I marvel that you guys can keep it in the pocket that well
Dude I personally would absolutely not characterize your leads as train barely staying on the rails. It’s a stylistic thing that fits your riffs to my ears really well.
You’ll laugh but quite often I get annoyed by the staccato thing. I literally aspire to break out of it and be more chaotic but my mind always goes back to the staccato because rhythmically/mathematically that’s how my brain thinks. It’s too rigid of a thing and it’s held me back! I’m hoping to break out of it this year!
Most importantly from my perspective your overall musical package has a distinct style and I don’t think there could be a better thing than having a sonic signature like that
