Maybe he did have something to do with it. Good reason to lawyer up
Dude just lost his son, why shit on him for getting a lawyer for something incredibly high profile
He either had something to do with it or he at least knew he would likely be held liable since he bought his psycho kid an AR-15 shortly after he covered for him to the FBI about the kid making threats to shoot up a school.

I'm shitting on him because he is a complete dipshit loser example of a father. The high profile lawyer is probably working pro bono, like some mentioned earlier.

I know nothing about the guy, He could certainly be a piece of shit. It just seems pretty normal to want a lawyer in his situation to me.

Those two sentiments seem at odds to me. If it was a case of a screwed up kid doing something horrible and shooting up a school and the parent's were just normal people who weren't actively fucking their kid up or in some way responsible for the actions of their fucked up kid, which is often the case, why would it be normal for them to want or need a lawyer for themselves? It happens all the time. " I don't know where I went wrong" mom said, blah, blah, blah. Regular people trying to raise their family the best way they can and the kid does something horrible. It definitely doesn't seem normal for them to default to legal representation for themselves.

On the other hand, if it's this guy, which I have already explained was either actively encouraging or enabling his kid to go on a shooting spree or is literally the dumbest mother fucker on the planet because who the fuck gives an AR-15 to a 14 year old kid a couple months after the kid threatens to shoot up a school ? With the recent convictions and incarceration of the parent's of Ethan Crumbley, who shot up a school with a handgun they bought him for his birthday, it seems pretty obvious why this piece of shit thought he would need a lawyer.

It's pretty much been established this guy has no money for a lawyer of that caliber. That leaves a couple of possibilities. A) the high caliber lawyer sought out the dipshit and offered his services pro bono to increase his own notoriety or B) Someone else is paying the lawyer to represent him.
