A lot of people are talking about the YJM/HS-3 pickups. While I love mine, it's a bit hard to play with. It's just SOOOOOO low output that I end up fighting it at times. It's just something to keep in mind if you're not used to playing low output pickups (like myself).

Edit: JB, I have a Seymour Duncan Hotrail (neck version) I can send you if you wanna try it out.

That is the same complaint people have with SL-1s and the classic stacks, they are not too high output and the user starts to bash the Jackson

FWIW i found my guitar not necessarily difficult to play, but way more touch sensitive with the HS-3 in the bridge position. Thats a good thing for me, because i love to play with lots of varying dynamics and its nice to have control of the sound by just your fingers! :)

You're right, but no matter how much gain you use on the pickups, the notes retain clarity. So I like the challenge to get what i'm going after tone/sound wise. plus it forces you to play more precise and accurate, which is another plus if u ever have to step into a situation and play clean or acoustically.
The one element I was not happy with the YJM is the fact that Fender bevels too much off the sides of the fret.....so you really have to focus and get adjusted to play with total accuracy and not slip off the frets ( high e string).

I got a YJM in the neck of my Maiden Strat, and I love the clarity it gets. It can just be a pain to play with sometimes. I tend to increase the gain to get the sustain I need, too. Again, not a big deal, but something to think about.

Well, thanks for all the advice, suggestions, slams, etc, etc guys. :D

I dunno what I'm going to do. I might keep it and remove some springs from the trem to decrease the tension a bit, I might do this, I might do that. But I'll probably end up selling it or trading it. I WILL NOT be modding it in any way.

We'll see. If anybody is interested in it, let me know.

Thanks man, I really appriciate the offer bro, but I'll pass. If I replace anything it will be the bridge pickup. Thanks again man.

Floyd it, route it, scallop it, and put an American Flag pickguard on it.

That should cover it.

Glad I could help too
