I got lucky as it’s a top notch guitar. There are things I’ve never mentioned before that make it better…people don’t realize Charvel does lots of different almost unnoticeable things. The big thing that makes this guitar really rip is the bridge pickup placement. It’s set back a little further to the bridge. This makes it sound aggressive and compressed. Notice my avatar Charvel… bridge pickup is closer to the bridge. Looks at most other Charvel pics. The bridge pickup is 1/4+ further away towards the neck, which changes the tone quite a bit and makes for a more tubby and loose sounding guitar in most circumstances. Today’s lesson is complete.

That's part of the difference in sound between Epiphone and Gibson Les Pauls. The Epiphones bridge pickup is (IIRC) closer to the neck than the Gibson.I got lucky as it’s a top notch guitar.
