Strandberg models are made where, Indonesia? Bolt on necks? I have guitars made in China, Indonesia, Korea, etc. and they work well for me, and they were all priced fairly.

Looking at what a Strandberg offers and where they're made, they seem overpriced for what you're getting. I have an Ibanez Q52, $1000 new, all it needs is a trem IMO. Reasonably priced for what you're getting and where it's made.

I have an Ibanez PS10 prestige (made in Japan) and the next series down, same model PS120 (made in China); while there are some minor differences between them, they aren't enough to be worth the 3X price difference. Now the PS120 is much better than the PS60 (I have 2; made in Indonesia) and is worth the 3X price difference.

I was gonna go for an Ibanez Q model, but they just dont have the scale length for drop tuning. Or at least to go between standard and drop without a string change. I almost balked at the standberg because it is a high price for an indo model, but I can’t say I’ve seen a bolt in with better construction yet. It’s extremely resonant as well. Some days I wish I got a 7 string instead of an 8, but my 8 is just too nice to get rid of

I think drop tuning is the best argument for the multiscale/fan fret thing. I do admit it’s pretty comfortable, but not enough to get a guitar just for that imo. They are absurdly light too, and I’m primarily an SG guy
