Dude, quit being so goddamn bitchy and defensive about everything everyone says.

P.S. Did you even listen to the fucking music I make?

No I typically don't check out stuff from someone bashing the genre I like.

It's hard to pick up if someone's joking through text unless they make it obvious.

I assume you were joking after hearing a few of your clips because you're obviously into thrash and death metal.

I'll never stop defending against those types of incorrect statements btw.

You should know tuning is important regardless of genre

Your the one who said it not me.

What's funny about all of this is the hypocrisy.

If I disagree with a belief the person starts talking shit and tries to pull everything out of their ass to twist shit and point the finger. They do their best to belittle someone to make themselves feel better and cant admit when they are wrong.

Instead they continue with the above.

But when the tables are turned and someone disagrees with me I'm a bitch for defending my beliefs lol. Or even doing the same (shit talking, belittling, ect)

I can admit when I'm wrong and I have, but a lot of you can't and are pretty hypocritical.

It's ok for you but not for me?

Ok cool.

You guys are pretty tiring. You believe your thing I'll believe mine and stay the fuck out of threads if your just going to troll.

I had a pretty cool discussion about extended scales going and some fucktard that doesn't like low tuning created a shit storm.

Good job, mission complete.

I'll be sure to post some NGD pics hopefully soon.

The problem is that you care too much about what other people think and take everything too seriously.

The fact that you're replying shows you care equally.

Ever see someone in a public speaking situation that is insanely awkward to watch, and you just kinda cringe to the point where you feel bad for the poor bastard? Yeah, same situation.

Well I don't really feel bad for you so not the same situation :)

We can go on all day if you'd like.

My main points of argument:

Most guitarists don't tune to E.

Metal guitarists need to be as equally as in tune as others.

Nice analogy.

We'll ejecter you can argue and hate all you want but I'd still be willing to bet 90% of guitarists under that age do not tune to E.

You don't have to agree but i will say my age. I'm 33, have been playing for almost 20 years, have met many guitar players and not one of them tuned to E.

I don't know every guitarist in the world but I would again assume a very small portion of them are in E

Oh you youngsters, EVH didn't tune to standard E either. :)
What's really amusing is that you know who EVH is even though you were likely born with a computer as a pacifier.
Seems that old dude is still known even among the "I have an 8 string bass...errrr guitar" crowd.

BTW, just because there are those who don't agree with everything you say doesn't then mean they are the haters.
Generally, those who bash first are the haters, those who then respond are simply trying to educamacate the hater. :)

Ohh I almost missed this one.

Please see post #20 to see when and how all the shit talking began.

Welcome back rejecter.

No, you didn't directly say the words

No your right. You did not say those exact words but again, see post #20

That pretty much sums up your thought process.

Me saying most guitarists don't tune to E is a stereotype and not accurate. So are you in fact insinuating that most guitarists do?

Food for thought.

Most guitarists don't detune to the level of modern metal and alternative

Fixed for ya.

Finally, thank you sir.

All of this could have been avoided.

You indirectly admit your faults and you are probably right depending on what you consider modern metal.

A lot of those bands use D, C# or C

But I will admit Most guitarists do not tune to drop G, it is stupid low.

Or maybe just stupid idk. At first I hated it, said wow this guys an idiot who tunes this low.

But it grew on me I like it a lot. It's very very heavy and on a 7 string you still have D standard for the top 6

A new thrash song by the guys who put the genre on the map...listen to how "twangy" it sounds in standard tuning (real standard tuning...not modern metalboi standard ;) )

You need an unbelievable amount of attention. It's pretty spectacular. Just thought you should know.

And yes, I know I'm feeding the troll...but anyone who can come up with this line deserves at least a modicum of attention:

Well it may be comical but it's true.

They are metal, some of their older stuff was straight disgusting and Randy doesn't sing cleanly yet they are considered mainstream music.

Randy makes over $200k annually playing "mainstream" metal = fact.

The awards I'm not 100% sure about.

It does sound a bit high to me. They might be tuning "up" to E :)

In all honesty that's some of the best Metallica tone I've heard and I'm glad they're somewhat trashy again regardless of their tuning although, to me, they've lost their edge and will never get it back unless they booted Lars and got a more technical drummer.

That I would like to hear :p

E just sounds so damn friendly, even with cookie vocals

Lol you guys keep saying Drop C.

That's standard tuning these days.

When I say low I am talking drop G specifically,
Standard tuning is E.

Yes if your 45+ and still think EVH has the greatest tone.
No.

I'm 28, I play mostly in drop C, and EVH is not really my thing.

Most players I know play in either E or E flat on a 6 string.

Now look here Sonny, E is in fact STANDARD tuning for the 6 string guitar. No more arguing, that is fact. Get any book out about learning guitar and it will teach you how to tune to universal standard E. That is a fact, quit arguing, and give it up.

What us metal players vary off from standard E tuning is our own choice.
