Hi folks,

Well I've been buying and flipping gear for years and now I pretty happy with what I have and I stopped looking the local adds for a while. But here's some deals I did

-Dual recto 3 channels 700$
- 2 times I got a JVM 410h for 1000$ which I kinda regret selling the last one (made 450$ profit on ebay for one)
- Custom guitar made by a luthier in Quebec, Canada for 1250$ (worth well over 3000$) got a second one for 2200$ (listed for 4700$)
- Soldano hot rod 1125$ can
- ESP KH-2 Bolt on 1500$
- Lehle SGOS 180$
- Bought a few Strymon and Empress pedals which I ended up selling for a 100$ more than I paid

And few many more stuff, but thats all I can remember for now! I also happen to lose on a few sells but I the overall I did good I think!

I generally try to pay it forward with my gear.. As long as I can get back what I put into it, Im cool. So not alot of Profit comes my way.. One of my better deals I would say was recently, I had a guy drive about 3 hours to deliver me his Dual Recto for $600. I had offered to meet him halfway a few days earlier but he was busy and said if I waited until the weekend he'd bring it to me! (I bought it just to leave at my drummers house so I dont have to bring my Engls)

So on the other side of the coin.. I once sold a guy my Engl Savage 120 w/z9 and Mesa Roadking Cab for $2000, when he showed up he asked what else would I want to sell.. He left with my old school Mesa MarkIVb and matching 4x12 halfback cabinet for another $1000.(they were a little beat). But hey, thats exactly how much I had into them.. $3000.

I do that here and on TGP, where I consider it a community. But when it comes to CL or other avenues, if I'm not blatantly flipping for a profit (I do this rarely), I'm at least starting pretty high to give room for bargaining down.

Found on CL a Mesa Single Rectifier head & oversized straight / slant Recto 4x12 combo for $900, then I sold the head on Ebay for $750 leaving me with a $150 Mesa 4x12. :D

I found a mint '88 ESP made Kramer Focus F1000 with original Floyd and pickup. Was in a Cash Converters (UK version of a pawn shop) window for £70. Sold it later that week for £350. Just wasn't for me but a EVH dude snapped it up

There are no more deals. The contagion called greed has run rampant. Guys are actually manipulating the gear market on reverb.

No more deals. Boom.

End thread.

About 10 years ago I was buying some weed from a friend and some crackhead who was desperate was trying to sell his Jackson Randy Rhoads to the dealer. The dealer was like, fuck you. I asked him how much he wanted, “I’ll take anything for it”, he said. I had 700 bucks, he threw in aHughes & Kettner combo. I ended up trading that guitar for a Mesa Boogie, JP2C.
