I was tempted by one of the new custom shop sigs, but from looking at the pics on-line of actual dealer inventory, many of them have horrible string alignment. That killed the impulse pretty quick.

Made an in depth video about the scallop depth and shape for all the different models

For another data point, I have a November 1988 YJM. The neck starts out pretty thin at about .820 at first fret but it's got a heavy taper and is getting close to a full inch around 8th fret and reech a full inch at the 12th.
Love that guitar to bits!

Yeah the first gen seems relatively inconsistent in the neck taper for sure. My 88' and 95' are dramatically different. Definitely like the 88' neck profile more it's thinner everywhere.

I really want a CS, but man that price tag! I can get 3-5 production YJM's for that $

Interesting, mine is the only one I've tried, i was surprised when I got it years back, wasn't expecting a huge neck, but I love it now :)

Made a 2 part video of the differences between the MIJ models

I absolutely love my YJM Strat. I bought a new production model and had my friend refinish/relic it to look like his original duck. Killer guitar!

Yes sir, not many made. Not an official signature model, but very cool either way. I nearly bought one not long ago, but someone decided to dramatically overpay for it so I skipped it. Fender holds the only true YJM Signature Model, and MIJ Fender started making "pre-signature" models as early as 1986.

Came across this the other day, I’d never heard of a Schecter Yngwie model??

Ever heard of this?
