Sadly not a long head variant
Aside from the relocation of the presence knob (and the reverb too?), are there any (other) practical advantages to the long head format?
I'm fine either way, since most of my 2*12 cabs are 24" wide, which matched both the DC-5 and Mark IVa I had. But the smaller (18.7") head fits nicely with my Mesa Thiele cabs.

Nothing practical, just like the look of it

one could argue that the long heads have a little more room inside the chassis and cabinet for air flow to keep it cooler, as many boogies run notoriously hot in some spots on the board, hince the reason for the fan. other than that, they're all the same circuits between long and short heads as long as its the same revision.

i feel like if a single component value is different from the original, that its going to be a shit storm on the boogie forums.

someone will argue that its not as good if the circuit board even LOOKS different.

All I care about is the sound. The Mark V's IV mode was no where close to my IV so I sold it. I really hope it's not just the IIC+ circuit in the VII stripped down to a short head. As for the board layout, I don't care as long as they nail the tone. Dave Friedman created what I consider one of the best Superleads I've played through with the Plex and that is all modern PCB construction, done well.

Wide heads sound wider. 😏

Yeah, but you're a reasonable person, aren't you. We're talking about the MESA CULT MEMBERS! i'd be the first to admit, i'm one of them lol
