DO IT! no sence needed you will not regret it!

As soon as mine lands all the gas I've accumulated while waiting for mine will be gone! Having spent enough time with the amp I've lost interest in other things!.

It looks daunting but it really was not, it's so easy to use and instantly get a tone out of I was hooked from the start! It also helps that Mike is a super kickass dude capable of anything! haha

Cheers!

That is a lot of tubes and knobs !!!!!! I bet that thing will be Killer like everything else Mike puts out. -Scott

The knob/switch count doesn't daunt me in the least. My biggest fear really is that after shelling out 5K the amp just isn't for me. I typically don't buy new since I hate taking a bath on the re-sale.

The few clips to date haven't really impressed me but I realize that they are just clips and not at all representative of what the amp is like in person.

What I am REALLY searching for is that tone that Jon Schaeffer gets out of his Larry Dino 939. :inlove: I really like to think that Mike F. can get me the closest without me actually having to buy a Dino 939 for $8K :scared:

I just tried calling Mike... I got voicemail but we'll be talking soon.

What to sell, what to sell......

Mike can get you any tone you need! Mike built my Hulk 800 which was the first of it's kind and I can tell you I could get close to John Schaeffer's tone, Mike owns a Dino 939 so you can talk his ear off about that amp!

The Natas he is making might be more up your alley! But the Meathead is incredible! I can't imagine not liking it, and I can tell you that the clips really don't do it for me, but when you get to play the amp it will change your mind since it has more to do with the player and what they can get out of something, as the amp sounds different when I play it vs the clips.
It really is amazing! and I'm not being paid to say any of this!

works of art - mike is nothing short of awsome
Mike sent me a couple of gut shots and it was mind blowing to say the least!
:picsorban:
Always wanted to use that smiley :)

Mike posted a shot of the inside once, I did not save it though. Very impressive work.

Well if it looks anywhere as classy as the chassis pics above, it must have been something!

Say "thank you" to novosibir :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I haven't heard or played this amp either, but having talked to people who have and who's ears I trust, I decided to take the leap of faith. You know, close your eyes and jump! ;) I have no doubt that this amp will kick some seroius ass

Well whoever that is, thank you.
It's a thing of beauty, inside and out.
As a past amp builder and a long time player, man I am really impressed!!!

that amp looks incredible. six channels huh.
4 more mods to go and my turn.

The Meathead love hasn't even begun as far as I'm concerned. Everytime I play one I am blown away.

Killer, Killer, Killer, amp!!!!!

I would love to see/hear and indepth video of all the channels. What do those cost?
$5,000 - and a somewhat large wait due to the pure complexity.

42 relays - MIDI - and 6 channels.

MIDI... 6 channels... Tubes in abundance... Sure sounds promising.

Hey Micheal,
Sorry I missed your call today. Just one of those insane days ;)

If you want Jon IE's tone then you should contact Larry  Email address is on his website at http://www.larryamps.de
I know that he has a 2 channel JS sig preamp and soon to be release JS sig head that is stripped down version of the Dino939. Go with current production tubes to save some $$. You can also inquire about a possible modded Marshall.
Cheers,
Mike

Man that chassis is so HUGE, it even makes those massive transformers look tiny!

What a monster amp.

I'm sure it must kick major balls

Oh I can also see - according to Mike's preference - mix of 2 EL34 and 2 6L6 - that's a cool feature with the power tube mixability.

I think it is 2 6550s and 2 EL34s if I am not mistaken...that is what my Hulk mod has. A very killer combo fo sho.
That IS a killer combo. That would be the dual bias mod. I've got that in my Cali. You can play for hours at band levels and the amp retains clarity. Other amps I've had loaded with all EL-34's tend to get really mushy and lose definition after a few hours. Sometimes my band will do two full sets and the amp will destroy all the way 'till the end and beg for more. I have such a mancrush on Mike Fortin. :inlove:

:inlove: Love you too man :inlove:
The Meatheads have 2 6L6s and 2 EL34s loaded in them.
I'm glad that the mix pair is working out for you
Cheers,
Mike
