Man that chassis is so HUGE, it even makes those massive transformers look tiny!

What a monster amp.

I'm sure it must kick major balls

Oh I can also see - according to Mike's preference - mix of 2 EL34 and 2 6L6 - that's a cool feature with the power tube mixability.

I think it is 2 6550s and 2 EL34s if I am not mistaken...that is what my Hulk mod has. A very killer combo fo sho.
That IS a killer combo. That would be the dual bias mod. I've got that in my Cali. You can play for hours at band levels and the amp retains clarity. Other amps I've had loaded with all EL-34's tend to get really mushy and lose definition after a few hours. Sometimes my band will do two full sets and the amp will destroy all the way 'till the end and beg for more. I have such a mancrush on Mike Fortin. :inlove:

:inlove: Love you too man :inlove:
The Meatheads have 2 6L6s and 2 EL34s loaded in them.
I'm glad that the mix pair is working out for you
Cheers,
Mike
He loves me! :inlove: He really loves me! :hys: Yeah Mike, I'm so glad that I took your advise on the dual bias mod! This amp simply destroys. :worship: Getting the Cali mod is the best gear decision that I've ever made. They'll bury me with this fucker. :rawk:

 Yes....and also Peter Diezel, Bernhard Stephan, Stevie Fryette, Andy Marshall, Todd Langner, Rienhold Bogner, Mike Soldano

Cheers,
Mike
^^hehe, Mike, I meant "Thank him" for the gutshot, because he's hosting it on his server.
I should remove it from my post because I don't want to raise the traffic he has to pay...

Wow! I'm flattered that he downloaded those pics. I had no idea and thanks for the info

Well, no need to raise his traffic that he has to pay for since the photos were originally uploaded to my photobucket page

When you brought up the issues you were having towards to ends of your sets. I had a feling that the dual bias would be a good option for you.
Glad to hear that the Cali is meeting your needs :)
Cheers,
Mike

It's kinda cool that yo use so many WIMA capacitors from germany :D

IMG_1949_sm.jpg

Germans don't like them (exept Peter & Olaf)

German Boutique builders prefer Mallory & Sprague ....

...and Sozos

What type are those - MKS or MKP

Nothing wrong with those either. I like Sozo as well and use the standard line in my Cali mods in some spots.

Both, some channels get the MKS and others the MKP :D

Thanks for your interest!

Can't wait for these to land! the guys who are getting these will be surprised by how they sound! I love the cleans, when I got a chance to play this, I spent alot of time on the cleans because I have not had an amp that had this many useable tones!

Anyhow you guys will love them!

Talked to Mike today. Great guy as you all know. The other Meathead is going to my friend Ron and he will probably have it a week from Friday or the following week. I am very much looking forward to trying that beast. It has so much stuff going on inside and I have no doubt it all works. Can't wait for that "come on down"call.

Hey Steve,
Great speaking with you the other day as well

Here's some pics of Ron's Meathead shipping tomorrow.

Whats the difference between MKP2 - MKP4 & MKP10?
Not technically, one is single sided metallized polypropylen, the other one is double sided metallized
polypropylen. I mean soundwise, is there a difference?

Oh, by the way, heres the german answer to your Monster head Mike

Rodenberg Flexamp 5 - what kind of caps? :D ...like I said

DAMN!! Mike, its hard to believe a human can create something like this. :loco:  :worship:
That must be braincookin'... Fortin, may I call you the "Einstein" of the amplifier world?
Congrats to the super stoked owners and to you Mike for building a Deathstar(before the attack) LOL!

Holy hell, just to think i`m gonna be a proud owner soon, i`m stoked. Mine is up soon and will look badass.

This has got to be the meanest amp out there.

Chris
