Can't remember it. How about the 60's version, same thing right? I think the whole idea the drag matches the story is made up anyways. Maybe I'm giving @Aynirar27 too much credit.

I completely forgot about that one. The 60's Batman was definitely 100% kid friendly

I stipulate that absolutely nothing overtly sexual happens with the latex gal. Again, she is entirely covered. Take the mask off if that's too much for you. I was not at all aware that the drag costumes had anything to do with the stories they were reading. I'd be interested to know what books they are actually reading if that's really the case! Regardless, it sounds like the latex is still a little offensive to your sensibilities, for whatever reason. Can you not understand that other people feel that way about drag? Say the cultural hegemons of our day decided to go with it. Would you be bothered?
IDK
Brittany isnt wearing a mask in the Toxic video while wearing that red laytex cat suit.
Gets me all revved up! hahahahaha

Excellent example. Would you be offended by a female teacher dressed as Wonder Woman?
Would you offended by a male teacher dressed as wonder woman?

I'm not personally offended by either scenario.
Whether either one is appropriate for children is a different story. Depending on the context (forced or optional) and parental approval either could be fine or inappropriate.

I would be absolutely shocked if Drag Story Time did not require parent’s approval.

If parents approve for their child to attend one then there is no issue as far as I'm concerned. It's the parents' call if they want to expose their children to adults concepts. They can make the judgement if they have observed and think their child has the emotional maturity to understand. If it's where a school, library, or whatever institution is bringing in drag queen story hour without parental knowledge or approval then that's a problem and highly inappropriate. It's not for the institution to make those determinations and expose young children to adult concepts.

If I had kids, I personally wouldn't want them to be exposed to adult themes until they were older and could understand these concepts. Let them mature at their own pace vs. forcing things on them when they're not ready. They'll have enough to deal with when they grow up; let kids be kids and enjoy their childhood without the burdens of adulthood.

And no, I wouldn't teach them specifically about drag queens at a young age to preach tolerance. I would have already started teaching them that in general there are many different types of people in the world and to show respect for their fellow man/woman.

I don’t know for sure, I imagine it depends on the school. But from my experience so far, within the first few weeks of school I’ve had an email sent home about having a class outside (on school property) and also asking permission to offer the kids lima beans for a project.
So like I said, I would be shocked if story hour was done without asking for consent. Not to mention it seems many of these story hours happen at libraries with parents in attendance.
So I tend to get hung up on any of it being “forced” or “predatory” because parents seem to be involved throughout the whole process.
