I guess we can agree to disagree on that. I don’t think it’s super uncommon anymore and I bet at least a couple students in every grade have gay parents.I think a story about having two mommies is a fairly heavy topic for 1st grader. Then add to the fact that it is being read to them by a man dressed up and acting like a woman adds a lot of weight. It's just confusing for children. At least I would think it would be. Maybe I'm out of my mind and way out in left field
Those kids shouldn’t be ashamed by it and I imagine one story being read, just one time during the year, about someone like them would feel really good.
And it may just make the other kids less likely to look at them strangely.
I could see if all of a sudden 1st grade replaced music with “gay studies” as part of the curriculum, but a couple hours out of like one day during the year? I’m just not seeing the problem, nor the indoctrination
