based on my experience with your atomic punk overdrive in front of my ie4 ch3, i suspect your dumble pedal would be a better fit for me than a synergy OD module.

i would likely use it in front of my egnater ie4 ch 2 which is supposed to be a fender just starting to break up

I had the Dumble " OD " for Synergy ...... it was cool but I like the VonBonfire a lot more ..... and with the separate ins and outs for both sides .... you can get really creative in how you route / use it .

Considering the features you built into this unit and the fact that a used Gladio is generally a lot more money I'd say this is a steal. Did some more reading last night and it seems a lot of guys like to stack the Gladio on top of other drives so I might have to experiment with the Blue Note when this arrives. Maybe I can rig up a small two pedal board for saturday.

not gonna lie, will be on my board at some point. I don't have many hobbies, but the ones I do have are all expensive unfortunately. You get what you pay for. :dunno:

I had the Chiron in front of the SC side a few times ..... it didn't suck .... that's for sure ...

In the case of this Deluxe model, you are getting more than you paid for.

I bet. A nice transparent boost probably mixes pretty nice with the VBF Deluxe, def gonna be trying some stuff!!!

I boost my jbthm-2 with my Chiron…. Perfect for when I’m shit faced and silly and need some extra sauce on top…

Sounds like you put in a ton of work into it.
I received it this afternoon. It reflects his hard work. It is outstanding. A lot of gain on tap @JackBootedThug and some nice blues tones there @japetus . And @Dan Gleesak should know that this is knocking the Blue Note out of my rig. That Blue Note has been my constant companion for 13 years and many hundreds of gigs but this is just a slightly better unit in pretty much every respect.

Every time he builds something I’m like damn I want that…honestly though between yours and Dan’s pedals…shit I want them both….

Dan's might be more geared towards your preferred gain amounts but I will say the green channel on this thing stays pretty tight compared to what I am used to as a non-chugger. It didn't take me long to connect with the blue side but I need to play more with the green side yet. What's weird is green sounds more like a dumble to me and I was able to pretty much get an exacting tone from it as the blue note gets in low gain mode. The blue side just sounds like a richer, higher quality blue note but with a ton more gain and more overall control with clean and bass knobs.

My pedal goes from zero to apeshit, gain wise, but it's a "boost" on one side and a full on distortion on one side, it's actually not that "tight" of a pedal

it's more the idea is to use the boost (greer lightspeed) during rhythm parts for tightness, and then the distortion (MI Crunch box) during lead parts for sustain and ease of playing.... the crunch box side has so much gain that i leave it barely cracked open most of the time. But it's there if I need it

At least play me a fancy Jared James Nichols blues power lick @VonBonfire

What do I gotta wait for a Pete thorn demo of this thing?

This pedal also goes from zero to apeshit on both channels. The one drawback vs the Blue Note is the knobs are way more sensitive to adjustments so you have to dial it in more carefully whereas the blue note has limited gain over a wide range so it's easier fine tuning. But the tones itself is just superior on this unit. I'll probably a/b it again soon to verify that but the only thing I didn't try with the BN is to crank the fat knob, which usually just makes it too tubby in the mids anyways. Here was how I had the pedal set, check out the gain settings and in conjunction with a cranked Twin, was still plenty of gain for me. I prefer to volume knob ride more than switch channels generally speaking....
