No. Hitler used to carry on about how his neigbouring countries had German populations and used them as justification for invasion. That's exactly what Putin is doing.

That’s what it comes down to. I think Putin would have continued to let the Russians be killed but when it came to Ukraine joining NATO that was it.

Russia has no right to be some power bloc and does not own the neighbouring countries.

Combined with the fact that Ukraine is a breadbasket and a good spot for a pipeline as well as eastern Ukrainians preferring to be united with Russia rather than all the failed NATO euro trash states. He's making the best possible play.

I am contrasting the attitude of a democratic and free nation like Australia that has the same GDP as Russia. Make no mistake if we were suddenly an autocracy and devoted all our means to being a military bully we have the wealth and technology to do it.
