Trump tariffs will make foreign products more expensive, also US products with foreign made components. On the counterbalance, Trump wants to lower the Corporate tax rate to 15% or less...which should offset cost increases...the net effect, force foreign production to pay the tax burden.

Democrats bitching about tariffs being inflationary conveniently forgot they wanted an increase in the corporate tax rate to at least 28%. How would that not be inflationary? Increased tax burden gets passed on to the consumer.

Corporations don't pay income taxes in a relative sense, consumers do in the form of higher prices.

Here is just one example to think about as how many of you realize how just clothing items from T shirts, socks, jeans , shoes etc are manufactured in China ? Not just cheap clothing lines but several higher end designer brands are imported from them . China will be forced to pay the tariffs but in turn will raise their prices and the U.S. companies who purchase these goods and will have no choice but to raise their prices accordingly . This is the domino effect on a mass level.

And speaking of Mexico we don't just import Tequila and Corona from them :p as many auto manufactures have plants in Mexico and make several parts for U.S vehicles so for example that Ford F 150 or Chevy Tahoe etc or whatever you have been thinking about buying new this year is going to go up in price. This sounds wonderful right???
“The United States' largest exports to Mexico are mineral fuels, oils, and distillation products. In 2023, the value of these exports was $45.07 billion. Go ahead and tariff those. Mexico’s biggest export to the United States is Mexicans.”

Not to mention the rampant inflation they caused for the last 4 years. Delusional hypocrites.

We'll see. The threat has both countries coming to the negotiating table now. They are taking shots at each other at this point.
Threats or not he about killed the American Farmers his first go around with Tariffs. Then had to turn around and bail them out. So basically the Tariff was a wash. Maga, Dems, moderates whoever you are doesn't change the fact that he doesn't know how a Tariff works, he's made that clear. The US imports tons of materials, food and petroleum from Canada and Mexico, two of our biggest allies, why in the hell would anyone want to put a Tariff on those countries is ludicrous.

Trump should consider adding a surcharge to all money transfers from the US to Mexico, maybe start with 25% of the amount being sent; want to send $1,000 to Mexico, that will be $1,250. Mexico's domestic economy would collapse. In 2023, $63B was transferred from the US to Mexico - these are retail money transfers.

Fearmongering aside, there are two members here who are responsible for probably 1/2 the wizards floating around. I feel like this will not be a problem
ahh, it's making sense to me now. Back in the day, finding a Wizard was like catching a fart. There seem to be a lot more RT'ers with them today.

The lack of political understanding in RT is mindblowing sometimes but then my surprise turns to understanding after I remember the crowd

The tariff threat is leverage you retards, last time he did the exact same thing and mexico got their military to the border to stop immigration literally before the tariff took effect.

Mexico has a military?!

The weird thing is that wizards are so polarizing. It isnt caused by those that have them. It isnt caused by those that had them and no longer do. It is caused by those that have never tried one and talk so much shit about them, lol

Shhh. It's more fun watching the ignorant cry.

Everyone is also forgetting that the last time some of these trade agreements were negotiated with other countries was several decades ago. The US has been keeping their end of the bargain purchasing good from them. They have not held up their end of the deal. The tariffs are a way to leverage theses other countries that have been taking advantage of the US back to the negotiation table.

understanding the literal bare minimum about international economics and trade should be a prerequisite for having an opinion on this shit, and yet....

all of the leftists who 50 years ago would be cheering the tariffs on ideological principal and muh unions are now apparently full on Hoover Institution international free trade advocates.

That's how you know the "opinions" they hold are completely ideological brainwashing, and they are completely and utterly full of fucking shit, as well as dumb.
