I'm not unhappy with the UL at all, but I'm too curious about the Sig_X to not give it a spin! So we're shipping the amps out on Monday and I expect to have a Sig_X mid/late next week.

Chris
Cool. Let us know what you think. I feel about the same with the 5153. It's really cool but not the end all be all amp. You guys know me, I will eventually move it for something else. There's a few amp out there I would like to try.

Well, almost. I just got the UL back and had a good gig with it last weekend. It rocked and I was very happy. But the previous owner of the UL (espquade) just contacted me and it turns out he has a Sig_X, but wants a UL. Well, you know the rest of the story...

Bound to happen, you need to get it out of your system and try it out

Everything I heard out of the Sig X so far sounds awesome...but I'm not listening in case my Egnater gets jealous

Chris -

Give me a call when you get it. I'd like to check it out too! :)

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm excited about it. I'll use the UL for on last gig tomorrow night, then pack her up for a Monday shipment. I hope I don't regret it...

Chris , I think your gonna like this amp since you really dig your Deliverance , as the Sig X is closer in feel to that amp than the Ultralead , but with alot more options .

I also find that it really works well with the Deliverance cab ( DOH ) but when I hear alot of people not liking the VHT's I do wonder what cabs their running with them .

Sure the voicing , tight response , feel is not for everyone , but the cab that you use makes a hell of alot of difference with VHT's

SWEET! Congrats. IMHO if you wished your UL was more classic, had a touch more squish, and was more organic then I think you'll love it. Love mine big time. That said not everyone one will jive with it. I know Pete didnt but truly I see why with the style of music he plays. My G-System should be here Monday and we'll see how that sounds with it.

Again congrats!

FWIW, I love it with by Celestion Gold in the 1x12 iso as well as the Golds in the 2x12 and G12-65 in the other 2x12. Haven't even put it o a 4x12.

I have a 2x12 with G12h's that sounds really nice with the SigX. I may get a D cab by trading another amp I have for it so well see how the VHT D cab speakers work for me.

Congrats Chris!
I have a feeling you'll love the amp. It sounds great through the Deliverance cab.

Looking forward to your review and some clips.

I really want to try the Sig-X sometime as well, but there are alot of amps on my 'try out' list

Hey Chris. Man I just spent about 4 hours playing my Sig X. Dude if you wished the Deliverance had a bit more refinement and had the features of the UL I think you are going to like this amp. I really could be wrong and dont hype it up so much in your head as the end all be all of all amps that will kill all amps because that amp doesn't exist but this head it does it for ME big time. I was just messing around at home before I took it and jammed with some friends. It worked so well in both places as it was great at home on its own jamming with backing tracks and cut like a mofo in the live situation. Most of the night I stayed on just the rhythm channel just using the boost function and the volume and switches on my guitar. Went from pretty clean to mean just doing that on that one channel. I just love the feel of this amp and it works so well with the switching system and mid boost on my Tyler. Man with this thing you could use the rhythm to do cleanish to crunch classic rock tone to 80's metal and with the mid boost on my Tyler I get singing leads out of if with out having to get the gain up high on the rhythm channel. Then you could set up the lead channel for a more modern higher gain tone and use the clean for funk to country with some drive. This thing is so crazy versatile. Give yourself a bit of time with it and turn the knobs to all kinds of settings that you may not even think would work and switch the switches to get a good feel of what the amp will do then go for trying to get your tone out of it.

Just thought post this and make you wait a bit harder. :D

I'm gonna say that you're gonna regret it just to be different from everyone else.

;) Why mess with a good thing is what I say.

Cool man. Just because I'm not diggin' mine (I spent another 5 hours with it this weekend) doesn't mean you won't. From what you mention about liking the UL and the Deliverance I'm betting you will like it.

FWIW - I played it through a D412 w/GBs and a D412 w/H30s and I like it better through the H30s.
