I love that! Was that in 40W mode? I love the sag. I want to play that amp! Mine won't leave VHT until Thursday or Friday so sometime next week I should have it.

Thanks. I'm actually really partial to the big open G chord in the end and the muted 16th triplets.mentoneman":2vpcdw6l said:degenaro":2vpcdw6l said:A little Sig X for breakfast...

All VHTs are PCB...moronmountain":3mneofrq said:degenaro":3mneofrq said:A little Sig X for breakfast...

Sounded pretty good. So what did VHT do to cut costs on the Sig-X? Did they use cheaper transformers, PCB boards or something?

SgtThump":swcdb6f0 said:I read somewhere that VHT found new ways to assemble their amps, cutting costs dramatically. But the quality is the same as it's always been. I can't vouch for that personally, but I think I saw Steve Fryette say that on the http://www.vhtusers.com forum.

Sounds good, but I need ALOT more time with it before I start making serious comments and stuff. One thing I noticed is that the rotary EQ controls are much more sensitive than the other VHT amps I've owned. It seems like it anyway?

No way! I'm not saying that. I said that it does sound and feel different than the UL, which I expected. I just had another round on it and it sounds pretty darn good, man. Everyone comments on the "feel" and I know exactly what they're saying. It feels GREAT. Sound is killer too and it has tons of options.
I have it dialed in right now for 6 killer tones (three channels, normal and boost per channel) and the effects loop for a lead volume boost. It's a very nice amp. I hope to get more time with it later today and for sure this weekend.

If someone really really likes the feel and tone of the UL then the SigX may not be their thing. It will be a good amp for those guys who want a bit more classic feel than the UL delivers. Yep the feel of the Sig does it for me. Wait until you play it live.... it'll cut for you really nice. Another thing I notice is its so musical to me...... you can be playing and just turn towards the cab and get this really musical feed back thats so controllable.
Yeah, the feel is great! Right now, I have the clean on 40watt/tube rectifier, the crunch on 40watt/tube rectifier, and the lead channel on 100watt/ss rectifier mode. Sounding good!
