The new LB is fun, def not my fav band, but I really dig all the noisey guitar shit he is doing on the new album and any of his other stuff for that matter.

Hmmm didnt know they made a new album. The curiosity in me says that i am going to have to check it out

I wasn't sure this was Wes's work or not, but it didn't take long to figure it out. Cat's off the hook... I've said it many a time before in many posts, he's a super talented guitarist and very original in many ways. I like 'im, like his style, and like the fact he's definitely a bit nuts....

Mo

I watched that Golden Cobra video on their site and it is pretty good, but I think it is time he takes the stupid costumes off already.

Big difference between Mick Mar's glam Crue look from the early '80s and Borland's bullshit gimmick and ever changing costumes in a band that doesnt even participate in the same shit. Also, with Mick, he pretty much looks like a zombie even without the makeup. Always did. Borland just looks like the odd man out in his own band. I don't like it in bands like Slipknot either, but at least they all are dressed as a unit. I mean I dig KISS, but that was the exception...shit they were so ugly they needed the costumes   Besides, Borland is a talented dude. I wish he would just come out and play.

I like the costumes, it's something only he does in that band, the other guys just look normal and here is the off the hook crazy gunslinging guitar weirdo. I like it.

That is exactly what I hate about it. It is distracting and useless. It takes away from the music and his impact imo.

Somebody doesn't understand show business. It's just a different way of doing it. If you don't like it, move on.

It's not my thing either. I'm T-shirt and jeans. But I'm not famous either. He is.

Wow, what a post. So I don't understand show business but I said that it's not my thing and I don't like it, but I dig him and I think it distracts from their output. You then say that it's not your thing either, but I guess it's ok because you understand show business? How about I understand show business just fine, but I just don't like it? Unlike you I am not just a T-shirt and jeans guy. I dig t-shirt and jeans bands, KISS, glam, costumes, whatever. I dug it when RHCP rocked it with socks on their cocks and nothing else. I don't generally give a shit, as long as it is some kind of cohesive unit. Quite frankly I even liked Borland's schtick at first for the first couple of years. LB was played out a decade ago. They broke up, got back together WITHOUT him, since even he was sick of them and now he is back. I am saying that I think now, it is time to forgo the lame costume shit and rock. Even KISS dropped the makeup at some point until everyone saw what they looked like and begged them to put it back on. :D

Ok. :scared:

Different Strokes for Different Folks..

Could give a shit what he looks like.

The shit he lays down on tape is insane for NU Metal

Kinda agree a tiny bit on the costume/slipnot thing , but Slipknot Kills as well!!!

Well said, I make no judgement on what someone sports for their kit... It is what it is.

But one thing for certain about Wes, the guy's a bit nuts...as in truly certifiable. Medicated. I don't see this as such a 'sad' thing as I do a 'righteously fuckin awesome' thing. Because that cat lays down FIERCE on the axe, and I think a lot of this is due to his thinking 'outside the box', er, outside of his otherwise semi-broken nut

Peace

Damn straight... One of the reasons I try and snag the odd LB video here and there is to simply get a handle on where Wes is at. His steez is just awesome... Love it!!

It has been years since reading anything with him.
But I remember something like prior to Limp Bizkit he was heavily into and doing Performance art hence why the crazy costumes and he never mentioned him self as a musician he always referred to his self as an Artist.
Especially if you see any of his Black Light Burns stuff

Limp BiZshit is one of the worst bands I've had the displeasure of ever hearing. Hard for me to get past that to care about anything Boreland has done.

Horrible...just horrible

He really couldn't do any better than LB. He gave it a shot with that BLB nonsense but for some reason forgot that he was a guitarist and decided to front it. That was more laughable than anything LB has ever put out including that absolute turd of a Gold Cobra vid.

I sent an audition file to him for the ETD sessions with the full intention of leaping to the next available project. Rich was announced as the guy which turned into TDW. Wes is a space cadet. Absolute nut job. He needs someone to lead him to water but he wants to drink through a tuba. Talented guitarist but not a businessman.

And ya see, Gents...?? This is a perfect working model of how 'music' is subjective and personal. Carry on, nothing to see here, carry on... (mind you, the main model in the video of Gold Cobra certainly has some wonderful, um, attributes that make those not wanting to hear the music, at least happy to SEE the music :D )
