I have several guitars tuned to EADGBE and several tuned down half a step to Eb....
I have a 7 string tuned to CFCFFCF

That's it. I rarely play in drop D, so I only tune that way when needed on the fly...

I tune to B standard, wasn't a voting option but that's where I'm at.

Ive used a few. D standard for many years, Drop C, Drop Bb, Drop A (still occasionally use) and have tried Drop G but for me B standard is where it's at.

I like the music i come up with in standard tuning vs Drop tuning and I started dabbling with B while learning Cryptopsy songs and just kind of felt it was the right place for me.

My primary tuning is Eb, but I generally have guitars tuned to E Standard, Drop D, Drop Db (Drop C#), D Standard, Drop C, and my 7 string is BEADGBE.

I'm fineish with C or C# too, anything lower with a standard scale length just sounds like you're swimming in pitchy mud and everything sounds out of tune

tbh though most alternate and super low tunings are either a crutch for lack of heavy riffs or a lack of creativity

They can work for certain genres certainly, but Jesus just get a 7 string or a mandolin and stop molesting the guitars
I've found that for anything below C# I really have to bump up the string guages on the 5th and 6th strings to counter the washed out of tune issue. Like in C# standard I am fine wirh a 12-52 set with wound 3rd, but once I make the drop to C standard I jump to a 13-64 set. For A standard I go 15-70, essentially baritone strings.

Fwiw I just don't like the feel of a 7 string neck. They're too wide and flat.

I know this is the standard fix, but IMO multiscale 6 strings sound much better for tunings that low - IE ormsby etc

Playing at home is all standard and I just use the Digitech Drop if I play a song tuned down. Eb is my favorite tuning though. Especially on a Les Paul. It just sounds right.

Fair enough. Otoh I am not trying to play techdeath, math-metal, or anything like that in A std. More heavy stoner rock to thrashed out doom type stuff.

I have one HB loaded guitar. It's an Alpine White LP Studio tuned to Eb to get my classic rock and thrash vibe on. It's got a vintage Gibson Tarback in the bridge, and a TV Jones Supertron in the neck.

That makes more sense, I don't play modern metal at all either though - more classic/power/thrash

Similarly to the tech-death and modern djent guys though, i cannot have my palm mutes flub out or else it smears the notes together - my music and the music I play is just too fast

I get pretty good articulation in A to tell you the truth.

I use single coil pickups, a P90 bridge and Staple Neck, or P90 bridge and TV Jones T-Armond neck in a Les Paul Special and a Les Paul Standard. Those either go into a Keeley Java > Game Changer Plasma Coil, or straight into a KMA Wurm 2. After that it's Fulltone TTE into a Hiwatt DR103 + one of my cabs. If I had a "my main heavy sound" it would be one of those two choices.

I have no doubt it sounds great for your intended use-case, but lets just say that even with a P90 your rig, tuned that low on LP scale, would make me pull my hair out on palm mutes

I'm really not a fan of doomy tones, but I love me some hiwatt though. The dynamic range in that preamp circuit is really a reality shifting, mind bending experience for any guitar player who hasn't tried one - I think they're the best "pedal friendly" amp for heavy tones for that reason.

8 string half step down is my everyday player
But as a teacher I play slot of standard and drop c

Eb standard on most all guitars 24.75” and 25” scale length
D Standard on a few 25.5” scale length
I keep one at E Standard on one to be able to play along with lessons

I’ve never liked playing drop tuning. Although I will do it sometimes to play along with songs. But tune it back up when done.

Those tarbacks are pretty cool pickups.
As much as I am more of a single coil snob, I am not really an alnico vs ceramic snob, especially with humbuckers. It's more about its eq and output to me. I don't like overly hot alnico or ceramic pickups. Give me enough body, some mids to cut through, and clarity in the highs and I am good to go.

Even with single coils I have had great results with ceramic, alnico, and rubberized magnets ala Gold Foils. I love Lace Sensor single coils too.
