Nice. Not in the $100 range. I have a duffle bag full of Bowie knives. Not really looking for a battle knife. Not much use for a Karambit other than fighting. Knife fighting is kind of an oxymoron. The only way to win a knife fight is not to get into one. I've been in two. Not something I intend to do again. I do carry defensive knives but they're kinda like extra mags. That is they are there in case everything else fails.

Really it was a long shot anyway because what I want is an all around knife that will do all kinds of actual work and a knife used like that needs to be a good knife or it won't last.

Yeah. Missouri is pretty cut and dry. If it is legal to sell in the US, it is legal to possess.
for some reason switchblades and ballisongs are bad juju yet other things are fine. Also if it's double edged instead of single you can get in trouble. Just really strange how they vary state to state. Of course brass knuckles are verboten everywhere I believe....

It's because moron libs on the east coast watched West Side Story and think switchblades are extra dangerous. The reality is most of them are slower to deploy than a good thumb-stud opener.

Not in Missouri. Or most free states. The butterflys and switchblades that is. I think knuckle dusters are illegal here, although I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it. I suspect using them would result in enhanced charges.

Glad you are alive! If someone pulls a knife on me again I'm gonna put some rubber on heel and haul ass.

Had a crazy drunk woman pull a big kitchen blade on me once in an argument. That was an easy dodge. She grew more enraged since I was laughing while avoiding her feeble attempts to stick me with it. She ran out of gas and I left to let things cool down. An argument over dog shit....

Other guy was a coworker and wanted to fight and so we met out back a store across from work. I was getting off my MC and him out his car and he decided to pull a knife and charged me. Glad he didn't do it. He had the jump on me and would've killed me since I was still puttin the kickstand down. To bluff like that is a big mistake though. When he put the knife away and got back into his car to leave I smashed his leg in the door with all I had and ring handed him across the head about five times. Kinda regret that cause I definitely messed his leg up but he had instigated it all earlier with a cheap shot to my face out of left field so I wasn't feeling compassionate. Of course the boss found out. Thought I was gonna be fired but he gleefully wanted to hear what I did to him to mess him up which was a real WTF moment for me...

Why would you regret that ? Dude, you are way more compassionate than I am. I would have ripped his fuckin' leg off and never thought about it or him again. I'll let you in on another little secret about myself. I am highly misanthropic. I interact on this here website and one or two others, but in real life I avoid people whenever possible. I just don't like them.

I worked in the highest crime neighborhoods in the country for about a decade. Digging holes with a pistol in my pants and wearing a 3A vest eventually ( after being shot at several times). I mention this ( again  ) to point out that working 11-12 hour days 6 days a week in that environment amp'ed my situational awareness up 1000% and once you get to that point there really is no going back. It's like when I was young and trained myself to remember all my dreams, which resulted in the ability to be aware it is a dream while I am dreaming which can be cool, but also resulted in heinous nightmares and not getting a decent night's sleep for the last 40 years. Anyway, all this to say that no one, NO ONE, gets in my sphere of influence without my knowledge and full attention. And if you pull out a knife, bluff or not, you are gonna catch a few in the chest.

Well it was a weird situation. And the leg deal was kind of a permanent lifelong injury. Not a lifetime limp, more like a month long limp but a lifetime of remembering why your leg hurts like hell on a rainy day.

We got along good together, hung out, had boys the same age. One day he was talking shit to me, which was a usual work routine so I didn't think anything of it, So I told him "shut up old timer" or something dumb like that and he just bitch slaps me and says "respect your elders". Well right then I jumped off the trailer and started chasing after him with about a dozen co-workers looking on. He wouldn't fight so I kicked his trash can over and told him to clean it up. All the while the manager is screaming "VB YOU CAN TAKE OFF EARLY TODAY" while I"m chasing him round and round a bunch of chairs like a cartoon....Since he wouldn't fight I told him to expect four flats on that classic of yours for that cheap shot and so the match was set right there. He really didn't want any but now had to save face so strangely I kind of suspected his knife pulling would be a bluff, but he was scared, so there is that. He later apologized profusely for the whole deal, admitting he was stupid. I never did hang out with him again after that.

Looking toward STL, about 12 miles away. Nice clouds.
