They’re obviously just trying to tap into that market. She’s cute and young and plays decently. There’s not a whole lot of those out there, so I think they’re trying to make her a role model and propping her up in the hopes that they can manufacture a new rockstar for the youths. If people her age even play at all, the vast majority of them are using 8 strings and amp sims, which is bad for Gibson’s bottom line. And the fact is, social media “influencers” (ugh I feel dirty even saying that word) are the newest and most prominent form of celebrity especially for younger kids. It’s not going away.
