You guys really missed an opportunity, not having braintheory participate via Teams on a big screen TV so he could shit on everything in real time.
Honestly, and not to pick on you at all, but I don't really totally get the shit talking on Sam. Essentially, he seems to catch a lot of shit for being snobbish.....But that could describe all of us sick fucks that chase tone like this.

I disagree with his assessment of many amps, but he looks for the same qualities that I do. I try to be more like him in assessing amps in being honest and not trying to spare the amp makers' feelings. These guys making these amps are all badass. But that doesn't mean we have to like their amps. And to only say good shit about them like every amp is the best is misleading and leads to a bunch of disappointment for others that trust our assessment.

On the same token, what is good for one is not good for all, and we all have things that jump out to us as badass. If you look at the amps we had there, any one of them could be someone's forever amp. They were that good.

Agree 100%. Sam is cool af, brutally honest, and no more of a gear snob than many guys on this forum.
The difference being is he has the means to try the best of the best and judge all other gear accordingly.
Sam couldn’t give af about the name brand or price attached to a piece of gear, only about its quality of sound/playability.
Someone may not agree with his tastes, but his observations and descriptions are spot on and can/should be trusted.
I’ve bought and avoided gear on his advice, and he’s never steered me wrong.

+1 trust Sam and what little I have played in my personal experience I agree on with his assessments. I rather someone be brutally honest than sugar coat.

Yeah people can view me however they choose. I am the exact same person in real life (not online), but I guess the difference is in person we don’t just have written words that can be interpreted differently, so I seem to only offend some guys here lol. If other’s want me to be diplomatic maybe I’ll purposely start sarcastically overdoing it, but there’s the saying “treat others how you’d like to be treated” and I’d want others to be straight shooters with me that cut to the chase when discussing gear. It’s fine if they hate gear I love. Sometimes that’s the most interesting part to hear about. They are just tools for me. We are not the gear itself

And if others really pay attention, they’d see I try to be thorough in saying what I feel are the pros and cons in any gear I try. For example, as much as I didn’t enjoy the UU, it was very punchy, big, powerful and I liked its cut. It just simply for me got outclassed by other amps at its strengths. Maybe that’s a clinical, cold hearted opinion on it, but not as clinical, cold still as the amp actually sounded lol. My unfiltered opinion of a filtered amp

That wizard must be broken . My hell razor ate my friends uber up . And I liike the uber
Agreed. Honestly it has a similar effect on my Rev 1 Uber. For my taste in what I like the Rev 1 Uber is still one of my favorite amps that I enjoy overall even a little more than the HR, but the HR does have that effect on it

I was at one a year and an half ago in Chicago with a few guys here and some not from this forum. Good times where it was ok to have our opinions

If anything in person we can have good laughs about it. Like one time at a different one there was this really sterile clean sound and the guy tried to put on reverb to mask it and I said stop cheating, just admit this clean sucks

1. No one cares about cleans
2. See rule number 1

I wanna have an ampfest.
Not sure how many of y'all would show up though to play my Gorilla.
If you have a amp fest I will show up.
I have been to a lot of amp fest all over the country. I am in Seatac today. There is a lot of Rig Talk members in the PNW. Last one I did was I think 2007 in Seattle about 70 people shower up.

Besides I have been meaning to check out Dan's Larry.
