Your must have Pedals..

Klon Centaur & Highwind Phalanx gate is all I really need (sometimes not even)

Borrowing now a Griff Tone Ripper that may become a must have for me too later on at least with some amps

My ‘80’s Great British Spring Reverb is unfairly majestic sounding, but not a pedal (a huge pipe lol) and can still live without it, but man can it make one’s clean tone 11/10

If I played the right styles the ‘70’s Foxx Tone Machine would be another must have. Best fuzz ever to me
For me, the isp decimator X gstring destroyed the phalanx

I’ll include the generic type & my current favorite version…

Fuzz (Sunface)
Klon (ceriatone)
Bluesbreaker (griffin analog)
Tubescreamer (od808)
Phaser (evh)
Chorus (ce2w)
Uni-vibe (weaver violet vibe)
Analog delay (dm2w)
Digital delay (timeline)
Reverb (blue sky)

I also prefer amp tones for most drive sounds, especially into the higher gain realm. I do like drive pedals for lower volume & mid gain kinda tones though.

I will warn you, it sucks tone. But just like @Techdeth says about the ns2, you just add the highend back in.

The cool thing about gstring X is it has endless sustain. No cut off notes. Also no artifacts. It is completely natural decay.

ISP Hum Extractor. Best gate I've owned with the ability to kill 50/60 hz hum. Single coils sound incredible without hum. Would love to try other pickups like P90s or anything that has hum with it.

BigSky and NightSky. Timeline. Empress Para EQ. make up the rest of my board.

You ever try the SUN unit? A guy on here turned me on to them, and I really like it. I want the least tone suck though, I had a dec GString II, and I liked it, but the SUN seems to be more transparent for my needs. I also run it way lower than the Gstring. I don't want any tone suck, and don't want to add anything back. Know of any good gate shootouts with the latest stuff, in front of the amp, and 4cm?

Zuul was best in front of amp for me. But just not as natural in the loop. @Techdeth swears by the ns2. I trust him and would love to try it in front

I really dont care about the tone suck as weird as that sounds..it is that transparent of a gate.. so good

Never tried sun, but heard great things

Zuul is one I considered as well. So far pretty happy with the SUN, but gates are funny. You don't really know what you're missing until you try something better. :(

I hate the zul

Fortin Blade
Airis Savage Drive V3
Boss SD-1
Nobels ODR1 30th
Maxon VOP9

These all have their own personality and can shape the tone in unique ways.

SD1
Phase 90
Boss delay

90% of the time it's just SD1 and delay. Love the phase 90 for the "schmultz"

DOD YJM308/ Fender YJM OD / MXR YJM
Klon KTR
TCE 2290P
Dunlop JP95 Petrucci wah

To be generic, some sort of Tubescreamer based OD, and some sort of EQ in the loop. Those are pretty much mandatory to shape the feel and overall tone.

I change boosts weekly, so it is hard to narrow down to exactly which one, because it depends on the guitar a lot.

Lately I have been leaning more heavily on Delay as well.
