Agreed. C'mon GL just get back to churning out some decent music. I could careless what the name you want to use. He's had so many bands lately... who can keep count?

Sounds more like a desperate call to be relevant. Do it with your music, not your virtue signaling.

I'm going to comment without getting into any commentary, issues, discussions, etc.

It is a smart move to change the name. Anyone into hard rock knows what this band is about, it is just a name, etc. but unfortunately they will get the same backlash later if they don't change it. Anthrax found this out after September 11th when all of those letters were sent.

Just go with "Lynch Pin"

Please understand Lynch was my favorite player.
I have met him many times.
Talked with him many times.
There is even a video of me with him on YouTube.
He even talked liberal crap with me 15 years ago.
I will never support his music again.
John Levin sounds better then he does these days anyway !
 
Guy who hasn't been relevant in 30 years changes name of band that nobody was outraged about. That's nice, but I don't think it's enough. He should donate every single dollar he ever made from that band to a social justice charity. He should sell every piece of gear he ever purchased or gained from endorsement using that name as well. Basically at this point, anything less than total financially ruining himself in a move of self sacrifice will not prove that he is truly sorry for his crimes against humanity that he has been perpetuating for all these years. Even then, there is more work for him to do. I want him to give at least 50 hours a week of his time teaching at risk youth guitar lessons, at his expense, for the rest of his life. Think of all the evil he has done using his guitar. Should he self-flagellate himself on youtube and stream it? I'm not saying it's the worst idea. Now it's time to give something back, George!
