What's your point? That you don't need a guitar? That you're cooler than those with a different perspective, or that your pictures drawings are cooler than those who choose to paint in color, or rather different colors, and textures, or sculpt, ........ or is it that your creative vision is so freaking stunted that you can't see past your own ego and appreciate that there are others who do what they do without any regard for what you do?
That ridiculous notion, that it's gay because it doesn't conform to your ideal, as though yours is the only perspective worth having-- is Gay.
Gear are mere tools to get a job done. The main difference is that, you don't hear or see those of us who appreciate having options-- giving you any shit for your artistic or logistical preferences. Another difference (Speaking for myself), is that I can do what you suggest-- Guitar, Head, cab, and a cord-- I am just not limited to only that.

Zachman":2keg50tx said:EXACTLY!!!! Just like a Plexi Marshall tone isn't outdated OR a Fender Clean tone. The thing that I find most appealing about modernizing one's approach, is that now you can "Automate your fx moves" now instead of having a zillion pedals on the floor, you can have the stuff set how you like it and call up your tones in a stored midi preset.Guitarslinger":2keg50tx said:+1
Is a CAE 3+ outdated? what about the fish? the 2150? I didn't think so.
guitar equipment pretty much peaked in 1990.
I don't know about you, but I have met people who's ONLY talent is dialing in the WORST possible tones in a serious piece of gear be it an amp or pedal or Rack mounted piece and then either they go on about how great it sounds when they have it sounding like rats sucked on the tone OR say how they don't see the big deal when subtle nuances don't exist in their approach AT ALL. Those are the people who make a pristine sounding Fender sound like crap. You can only teach technique, you can't teach SOUL or CREATIVITY.
It's the creativity arena where the rack stuff, Boutique stuff (pedals etc...) and the core amps meet to either express an idea effectively OR NOT.
