idk man I haven't heard anything (worth listening to. None of that "prepared instruments" nonsense) that Brahms, Lizst or Mendelssohn couldn't have written
I think the entire unspoken mindset that the best music and musicians in the world came from the latter half of the 20th century and...
Oh it's the Peavey that's not grounded
The Friedman is perfectly fine in that department. I did think about getting the 5150 grounded with an IEC socket, but I could also sell it and get something else that's also already grounded.
And yes, you are right. Resale is going to be pretty bad.
Yeah that's true. Well I plan to use 6L6GC and you have a point in waiting for the layout to be out first.
On the topic of the 5150II, I actually am going to sell it because several of my close friends also have it, so if I miss it, I'll just borrow theirs for a few days. I also use the...
I've been very seriously thinking of having an EE friend piece up an SLO clone for me. Him and his old man made me my first tube amp when we were both in college and the build was quite good.
I did the calcs and as far as the chassis, electronics and such and it would actually be cheaper to get...
Ooh very nice.
Too bad there's not too many soundclips of Caswell-modded Marshalls out in the wild. Every clip I've heard of one has been awesome. Like, really awesome.
inb4 some guy replies with "Appetite for Destruction"
you know what I mean
I'm either playing backline amps with my entire sound from the board, or I'm playing my own amps that I crank up to at least edge of breakup in the power section.
In front because I'm lazy and because it doesn't really matter in my use cases.
Now if I were in a big well-funded band with...
I never got to try the Stealth models (dealer's been slacking), but the marketing scares me.
The OG 5153 50W was already "too much gain" for me with the gain set at 10:30 o'clock on the red channel, and the Stealth allegedly has even more gain.
Whew
Pretty close to my current situation.
So I'm currently using a 6505+ and a Friedman head, sharing the same cab, I switch between the two based on what I'm recording.
I have a tuner, a TS9, a Suhr Koko boost, a Corona chorus and planning to maybe get a phaser in the future right in the front...
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
I had, like, 6 JBs and 4 Aldrichs. I always thought the Aldrich was more aggressive and brighter, but it also had more bottom.
Tbh if you're looking for something that sounds and feels hot that's similar to the JB, I would just recommend the Suhr Aldrich
None of the Anderson pickups have that crisp attack of your standard high output humbucker
They're really their own thing.
The H series are definitely ceramic, with a large ceramic magnet mounted on its side in between the coils
The HN series are magnetized Neodymium slugs. Sometimes steel poles with a Neodymium rubber magnet under them
The HC series are standard steel slugs with A5 magnets underneath
Attached...
Slightly oversized, flipped on its side.
The magnet is inserted between the coils as opposed to under them. Are they a little dark? I'd say all Anderson pickups are on the darker side, but they are NOT dull at all. They will sit perfectly in a mix, and due to their construction, they feel more...
I used to overthink this a lot
I would just put a Duncan 78 set in there and be done. Output won't be an issue because you're going to be running the (bridge) pickup fairly close to the strings anyways.
