I like them my self. They have a smoother gain overall tone. Plenty of gain. Definitely no where as dark is the JJ ECC83S or whatever their standard 12ax7 tube is. They seem to add a bit more mid/high-mid, which helps cut through even more. For the price, you can't go wrong grabbing 1 or 2...

The "something happen to the tubes in a gig" is the main reason why I am considering going with an Amp1 Mercury.

Right now have a tube head (Splawn Nitro) with an FX8 for channel switching, boost, effects. Take either a 412 or 212 to gigs depending on the stage size. Looking to down size the tube head to maybe a BluGuitars Amp1 Mercury. Cheers

I had the OG Zuul and really liked it, but then I found the Guptech Gul (renamed to Sun) and ended up selling my Zuul.

Anyone using it tried the latest version of the Ruby EL34BSTR/BW? I bought them years ago and really liked the way they sounded. When I got back into playing music, they were no longer made. But I recently looked again and looks like they're made again. Thoughts?
