My SJ bias was out of whack too. I put it at 72 per side, ran it pretty hard for a while, saw it get back to 72 and that's where I left it. Sounds much better. I also put 12AT7s in the preamp section to tame the distortion some.
When I see the YT videos of the various Silver Jubilees, I love them. Seriously, so many of them sound great. But I just can't bond with them. I had the 2525C and loved it. But when it ran out of balls at an outdoor gig, I knew it was too much for a practice amp and too little for band duty...
I also have a black tolex, mirror panel 2555x from Sweetwater, which I'm selling. I have finally given up on them and this is my fifth one. I'm replacing it with a Friedman Smallbox head that arrives Monday. The older I get, the less gain I use and my aging eyes don't see the mirror knobs on...
I had a Marshall 2x12 that started sounded pretty rough. Turns out that every single screw and bolt in it was loose and the thing was about to come apart. I only ever play it at full band volume, so it gets a workout. Once I cinched everything back down, it sounded great.
When I built my Frankenstrat, I added a black Tesi kill switch in the pickguard. It's almost invisible, but it works perfectly for the end of the You Really Got Me guitar solo.
Best guitar on the market. I have two of the old EBMM EVHs and three Axis. They are flawless in quality control and consistency. If I were a big rock star, I would not endorse any other brand for any amount of money. I have a few other guitars just because, but EBMM is my home.
I'm not in the market, but man, this looks like a metric ton of guitar for the money. My first guitar was a cheapo Hondo Strat for $160 in 1984. In 2023 dollars, that's probably what these SBS's cost, but in 1984 you'd have to have sprung for a Kramer Pacer to get close to this much guitar.
If these guitars are really good and the Floyds are the cheap Korean metal, it'd still be a decent deal to grab one and swap out the Floyd for one of the German metal ones. The base price isn't bad for a base partscaster to throw upgrades into as time and funds allow.
Doesn't Reverb let you use PayPal Credit? That's six mos. interest-free financing. I've done that when I had gear I needed to sell to cover what I was buying, never paid them a dime of interest. I know eBay used to allow, haven't bought anything big on Reverb in a while. But if PayPal Credit...
I've done a few Valvestorm/Metro builds and they came out great. I recently did the Mojotone 2204 build (combo) and it absolutely slays. I dare say it sounds every bit as good as my real 4010 and did it for half the money.
UPS delivery of a DSL40C from GC at my house.

USPS lost a pistol barrel I shipped to a guy in FL. I had insurance, they denied the claim, said they delivered it. I said, "Yeah, I believe you. But it was to the wrong...
That's an Axis tribute, but I did later have a pink EBMM EVH and also did not bond with it. My blue and sunburst ones, however, are going into my coffin with me.
