Anyone compare a JEL100 vs a Wizard MC I or II?

If you want to 'cut through the mix' then I'd steer clear of the MTL. I had a 2012 MTL 50w, the mids were pretty well scooped and hollow sounding even with the mid knob turned up. The MC100 I had was much better in that regard.
It's in the nature of most Wizards to have less midrange/different mids than say a Marshall. So none of them will cut like one...but, they are bright enough to still cut. Other than the MTL I had.

lol i bought an MTL last night :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@Racerxrated its ok, this is how everyone on here ends up with multiple wizards so i'm on the right path amongst friends :hys:

You will be OK. The MTL mk2 has a sweep knob that allows you to fine tune your mids alot more. I won't say from experience they can get the upper mids of an MC1 or MC2, but between the sweep, bright and your tone controls, you should no problem cutting through a mix. And even with the slightly different mids and more saturation on tap, the MTL does not give up any of the trademark Wizard punch and clarity!

I still love my MTL2 and have a hell razor . I’m going to do clips soon again

It’s a great combo man

yea dude i'm stoked...i'm all about quad tracking so herbert, mark V, wizard, and who knows what else....throw the cameron aldrich in there

some fun experimentation ahead!

Haha well, maybe the newer versions have better mids.....mine was a 2012. So this was a few yrs back. Killer amp but the hollow mids I didn't care for.
Fwiw the MTL at that AF was a 2016 MTL 100 EL34 with V tranny’s. Not sure how a 2012 or older one compares

Sam what’s the significance of the V trannys?
A lot of the older ones like the 1996 MC I had had C tranny's (maybe some later ones also did too not sure). I was just stating the specs I'm aware of. I'm not sure which version tranny's the 2012 MTL 50w Tom had would've been. I've heard some say C tranny's are supposed to be more raw or gritty sounding, but I didn't find my '96 MC to sound that way vs that MTL
