I went through what I could, and from what I was able to read, "dirtysteve" purchased what was essentially a prototype amp. As far as what was, and wasn't settled between Billy and Steve, that's between them... I hope they were able to settle this amicably. I have a difficult time reading through threads like the ones posted on the Marshall forum. It's like driving past a bad car accident... Best to just be on your way. I don't believe Billy set-out to rip this guy off, nor did Steve make such an implication.

Eddie Van Halen had cabs like this and its genius...Billy did NO TOLEX, and NO speaker covers cause the speaker covers take off the top end frequencies of the tone (even if its a few DB), tolex can dampen it as well, Billy went old school EVH style to where these X-Pattern WGS speaker loaded MONSTER cabs sound FRICKIN amazing!!! I personally think Im SOLD on WGS speakers...period. What I heard at Nashville NAMM was simply mind blowing, the BEST tone I have heard, unless I was beside Eddie at Sunset Sound Recording Studio's, Hollywood Califiornia 1978 (VAN HALEN 1), wish everyone a great night! <img src="">

I hope not , he can't reply to what's so magical about the 4x12 cabinet with special WGS x pattern speakers.
I've played a fair amount of them and Emmi's and i dont hear any EVH tones seeping out of them any different than regular Celstions.
Not to mention the special mojo the blades cabinet is suppose to have from stripping the tolex/grill cloth off it. Been there done that decades ago , nothing special there either.

Billy no longer needs to post on internet forums, nor should he. When legendary music producer Michael Wagener personally requests your presence at his home to showcase your product, meet the family, and dine on sushi - you are the elite!

The HEAD makes the tone thru these great speakers. So quick to bash without much thought process, please relax a bit, I don't own a couch sitting in front of the RT Marqee waiting for the next response X pattern is V-30 Green Berets and 75 watt cloned GreenBacks, a GREAT match with Billy's amps. I cant imagine a BAD cabinet playing thru these heads anyways I figure if you have a great cab, it will sound good.

^^ This was a big part of it. ...and no I didn't do my research, I went by what a couple of guys said that met him in person and played his 50 watt and didn't look any further. Right or wrong I tried to help the guy out and give him the chance to prove himself and it back fired on me...my bad, lesson learned! The important thing is now everyone knows beyond any doubt that he's all talk and a hack unless he can prove otherwise.

So now I get to learn about amps by fixing it myself even if it means rebuilding it. Which it probably will, but first I'll concentrate on making it safe and I'm already getting plenty of help with that. It will sit until it's safe no matter what that takes. Had I known the whole world was watching I'd have never done it. Now all I want to do is try to make the best out of a bad situation.
