I was thinking not more than an hour ago... "As a last resort, the evil sub-humans on Rig-Talk will attempt to destroy Billy Blades through legal channels, taxes, etc..."

Instead of helping him to prosper, you prefer him destroyed!

Rig-Talk... "Satan's Church" of online music forums.

ha ha, satans church!! is charveldan the overlord, or brad?

This clip actually sounds decent and it there is no studio trickery as with the Mike Himmel stuff!! Would I pay 2K for one of his amps? Nope!!!      But you have to give the guy props for making his dream happen even if that dream contains lighting bolts, cup holders, gold knobs and cheesy looking amps!!!

true dat homie!

From that video above ^ , I wouldn't give him but maybe $800.00 for that mushbolt amp !
I've heard better EVH tones played from a DSL and with no mods.
You either have it in your hands and know how to EQ the amp , or you don't .

You are all the cream filling of my asshole casserole.

You are all wrong.......

wood dissipates heat 10x better.......

joints are arc welded for superior strength.......

absolutely no head box as it produces a spike in the 1500K frequency range that mimics the tone here.......

I accept Paypal.

free cup holder for all RT members who order in the next 24 hours......

Seriously?

Seriously, why would we want him to prosper? Just curious. Curious as to your motive here.

Conversely, I don't want the guy to be destroyed either. I mean, I can give him credit for creating what he set out to create I guess. I don't have to agree with the way he went about it and I don't agree with his lack of professionalism but that's his problem not mine (ours). Public forum is public.

I have no beef with you personally and honestly do not have a single dog in the fight but all you've really been able to do is point to the good tone and some pictures with Michael Wagener. You keep asking for proof of what is wrong with the builds - which has been provided over and over again. Mostly, everything on this forum is old news.

Again - I'm just discovering this whole fiasco.

PS: Doesn't TGP shut down threads automatically at 1,000 posts?
Really??? What has been presented is speculation, and a much publicized issue with one Blades prototype 20 watt.
You asked for proof earlier on his skills and it was presented.
I think the obvious is beyond speculation at this point.
Much publicized? Ha!
FYI - there was confusion on DirtySteve's part on which wattage amp (model) he really wanted. He was sold the 20 wattr' :dunno:
Issue with one? I read there was another person as well. Did you read that, or did you read something else?
I will admit you are very knowledgeable in a lot of areas regarding electric guitar so I give you props there my friend. :)

Re: Blades Amplification
Here we go, had to chime in.

1. Steve, feel sorry for you bro, but glad you got it working. I tried to tell you guys as a previous "customer"
2. FourT6and2 - Great job! First time? That looks great!
3. Nik at Ceria is a great guy. I've talked to him many times and we shared information and he gave me the layouts for both Yeti and Chup, no questions, no goop/silicon/sharpee. Thanks!
4. Billy's stuff is crap. As a previous "customer", his workmanship sux. He comes across as this guy fighting the system and not in it for $$$, but we see again, that is all BS. His cabs, layout, technical prowess as we have seen as sub-par. He plans to undercut the competition, but as we have seen through Steve's, Mine, others, you really get what you pay for and no one should be buying amps from Billy Blades and should not be supported. He lies and twists everything around and side-steps it with his bi-poloar and Schizophrenic behavior and has nor formal training, nor education in engineering, technical skills, etc. The costs he bitches about, as we all know is basically labor and he cuts it by using joe-blow...self, kid, friends who again should not be doing this and you get what you pay for. Anyone want a "grail-tone" amp, should pay a real technician at $25-$50/hr (going rate) and it will cost them in the $1,600-3,500 range. There's no way around it.
5. I have the MOD'ed layout for the basic design both of this amps (Jose/Aldrich). Maybe I should just post them and put this baby and money train to bed!

I'm tired of it. No new innovation here. Stick to your day-job.

1 Blades customer?

Awesome!
You can call it "firewood"

BB is on a group on Facebook now, pretty much claiming his amp is exactly like the amp "EVH and Jose designed together" ,aka his magic Marshall, which is well documented to be 99% stock.
What a nutcase.

If a buyer chooses, he/she can always put the chassis onto an alternate container.

Unless I'm not seeing the pictures clearly, the chassis appears to be a sheet folded into a U only, which is just begging for some serious sag due to lack of structural integrity. If I'm seeing those correctly, that should be Billy's next improvement because that design is not made for the long haul.

WOW! this thread is still going? let's summarize:

The amp guts look cleaner now... until someone buys one and opens up a gut shot however, there is no real proof that these amps will stand up to being moved or heavy use.

He has a couple of pics with Wagener and two of his buddies know how to play and make the amp sound good... that has nothing to do with the safety of the amp.

Cosmetics and cabs are horrible. That speaks for itself. The amp sounds good.

Billy sounds uneducated. He cannot write or market without spelling mistakes. How is anyone supposed to take him seriously or trust him with 1800$?

You can make the argument that all mods have been done before and nothing is new..still though, he is trying to make money from other people's work. He has essentially ripped other people off. As such, why not rip Billy off? Whoever has the schematics of his amp, I would post it here for everyone to see.

Someone mentioned Jose mods relating to Ed's '68 Marshall... If Ed's Marshall was stock; what the hell is a Jose mod? Guy Hedrick told me Jose had replaced the stock transformers and signal caps, but that was it. He didn't say anything about a MV being installed. :dunno:

Like we need is another "was EVH's Marshall modded or was it stock" conversation. :bash: :bash: :bash:
