I deleted the pics, sorry guys. I'm going to rewire the whole thing and probably redo the circuit board as well. I'm getting lots of help, but it might take a while. I'm learning as I go. Fortunately I do know how to solder. I'll post up pics when I'm done if anyone's interested.

Why did you delete them? If you would've left them up you probably would've saved some poor soul from buying a self igniting doorstop in the future.

Seems kind of odd to me.

I guess I wasn't thinking about it like that. I just wanted the PMs to stop and I figured everyone had saved them anyway. here are a couple of them and a new one. I forgot if I posted another one before, if I did I'm not sure which one. I have a ton more pics, but I'm not posting all of them.

Charveldan, I am buying another amp, but I'm still going to redo this one. I'll learn something along the way and I know I can do a better job. When I'm done I'll have about $1,200 in it including the cabs, and an education to boot. I don't think that's all that bad. If it is then well, I'll just have to live with it. I want to do this and I need a project right about now.

what is going on with the red wire coming out of the PT connected to the white wire to ground?

anyway - good luck Steve. You do know how to safely discharge filter caps right?

You know how sometimes you see something and you think, "I could do that!" It just happened to me.

I do not know mouch about soldering, but I do know that is a frikin cluster F!!!

He went belly up because of his solder expenses. He forgot to figure that in and it put him out. $280 bucks of high grade platinum solder to do one amp.

Billy sez he "Triple solders" for better connections.
But everybody knows Quadruple solder is where its at ...

i see alot of risks in that amp, and i know SHIT.... especially those solder jernts and some proximity issues.

Yes I know how to drain the caps and I've also been soldering for 35 years.

Dan, can we get a few less 7,000x 10,000 jpgs?

plz k thx.

What the hell does triple soldering even mean? Like he makes the joint, then puts the iron to it, adds more solder, and repeats again? Three times? Huh?

BB amps are a pefect example why retards should play with eletricity ...

Looks to be the PT HV center tap, funny how it is too short and he had to splice it. Most transformers come with plenty of wire. So he either cut it too short, or most likely, the PT is a "Pull" from another amp.

Pretty much, the triple solder comment alone is proof, he is clueless on electronics and tube amps. Sure he can throw something together, but really doesn't know the design theory or how to layout correctly.

 WTF if you're going to insult someone, at least use spell check so you don't look like more of a tool than you already do.. smh
