I have been thinking hard about a Herbert now. Am I crazy?-Because that is very possible. Everywhere I turn someone is getting their Diezel fixed. Why do they need to be fixed so much? I cannot stand having to send my amps out for repair. Please shed some light on this for me? I do not want to drop that kind of money and have to worry about problems. Or maybe I am just crazy. This guy's is getting fixed, another guy's is out for repair. The Einstein is broke. What's up. :loco:

You did not have to convince me. Now that we know what the issue was it is very obvious why those joints look the way they do. Now what do you think is wrong with my amp? At first it was just the 2nd and 3rd channel cutting in and out and if it was on a stand it would be fine. Now after moving it from one place to another the 1st and 3rd channel do not work and the 2nd channel volume does not work.

I just want you to know I am not here to start anything with you Peter. After seeing the pictures and knowing yourself first hand the quality of your product you must understand my cause for concern. Even still they seem a bit sloppy but I do not care how they look I care how they work. I amalso not saying that is what is causing the problem. I jsut want to find out. I can take detailed pictures of everything.

Why should I convince You ?

Very good post

I speak for me and the other manaufactures of course.

We are a small company and have made about 7000 amps.
6900 customers are satisfied without any repairs. You don´t
find them complaining in the internet.

80 customer are complaining and bashing companies easily
at the forums. 70 customers have only a tube related issue
but give You a hard time.

Welcome to the club, that´s the new age of internet.

But don´t worry ..... just send an easy email
to peterdiezel (at) diezelamplification (dot) com

Well that's a damn good record. Good to know. You have a bald head like me.

Please send me a picture of Your head.

Less hairs .... more discount :D

Man i posted only facts i saw with my own eyes at Peter. Nothing else.
And i know how my Herbert looks like inside. Not more.

But this is the proof how honest Peter is.

And how much you misinterpreted my post

For the record, I know quite well how amps are designed, built, and maintained, but I appreciate your assumption about me as a result of your misguided confidence in Peter (but to be fair, he deserves it as evidenced by his professionalism in handling this)

Anyways, Peter, the amp is now Mraajr's (SN 001/1131), so everything is his call now. I was just chiming in to give my side of the story.

It is fun to stir the pot....at HCAF where it is par for the course.

Gotta chime in here. That may be the case at H-C, but that's why we've migrated over to R-T.

How you portray yourself on the internet is how you are? Maybe you my friend but I can assure you that is not that case with everyone. I am not on the internet all day looking to be serious as hell like I have to be in my work life.

But portraying one's self untruly doesn't encourage good relationships, and is akin to lying - whether on the internet or not. Plus, many of us deal in gear. If I can't trust the other party (be it buyer or seller), IMHO that would really complicate a transaction.

I could care less how someone looks at me from my posts on an internet forum. It is the internet. I may meet 3 or 3 of you in my entire life. Why would i care if you thought I was "cool" or "mature" or a "troll"?

Hey guys,
I just wanted to at least chime in on this comment regarding mraajr and if he can be trusted for gear purchase/transaction. I recently traded some gear with him and everything went smooth. I just needed to put that out there. He is on his own with all the rest of this stuff!! Everybody may not like what he has to say, but I believe he can be trusted with a transaction.
Peace!

Big +1.

Awesome dude to deal with, and he has the patience of a saint, clearly.

My favorite part is how he was the first to chime in to tell me I was an idiot only to have Peter confirm that those joints were done at the factory. Just another testament to the perserverance of the Diezel fanbois

Thank you sir, I think my girlfriend would disagree with you about my patience :D I have probably talked her head of about this for hours.

Thank You, Kayman

Peter, your wife built that Schmidt?? you lucky dog you!!!

PS..ive had my Herbert over 6 years. Played many of gigs with it. Recorded 5 albums with it. Many sessions. Much beating!! Been to hell & back with it. Had one tiny issue and they took care of it ASAP!! I know people get flustered when things dont work (esp expensive things) but its no reason to come onto sites like this & start a shit storm. Peter & everyone else from Diezel is so accessible that they are a call or email away. I think if you have a problem that is beyond a blown fuse or bad tube, contact Peter. He is always willing to help & then it will eliminate all of this. and we all know that we will be taken care of regardless...cuz thats just how Peter & Co. operate!!

glip22..buy with utter confidence. im not a patient man. But over these 6 years everytime i fired her up she worked like a charm..so much that i never had a backup head!!! Things happen...like tubes go or fuses...its nature. but dont think that everyones Diezel is in the shop or broken....cuz mine was once over 6 years!!!

Ok ..... picked up my wife from German school and had a beer.

So let´s have a look to the "new build quality" Mraajr is asking
for:
This is a Schmidt built by my wife before wiring. The board is
assembled and soldered by her. Every amp is working perfect
from the beginning and looks great. It´s phenomenal that the
sound is 95 % the same on all units.

This is one of the very first Schmidt´s which has a small mod
on the preamp and a big mod on the phase inverter in the background.
We did it like P-2-P but it´s a very tight construction.

A Herbert built by Angelika

Another pic:

Some pics from the workshop

Mraajr was posting replaced resistors with ugly area.
If we or any tech replace a resistor for any reason,
we cut it from the surface of the board and resolder
the pads. This and the solder wire on the new resistor
causes some fluid around the solder pad. Sorry we didn´t
remove it. Another hardship is the new lead free solder
wire.

I would like to invide Mraajr to our workshop.

Good night ..... Oyasumi,

Peter

lol, oyasuminasai! Otsukaresama deshita.

You're just begging for it aren't you?

You came across like an asshole, and that's that. You make this a public trial instead of going to the source and getting things sorted out and you wonder why we're ragging on you? Jeeezz...

Guys,

Its sorted out now, so lets leave it at that. Start enjoying

Im enjoying my herbert everyday man, how i would love to herberts, stereo bliss :D

Seems to me everyone has chilled out except you.

Chris (mraajr) is a good dude, and just because you guys can't tell the difference between a legit question and a troll thread doesn't change the fact that he has been saying all along in this thread that he is not slagging the company or trying to stir up shit. Learn to read.

Posts like yours make me think his 'fanboi' comment was spot on.
