No .......... sometimes we make special mods
for customers, sometimes its made by customers
or techs.

Again.......... I have no problems with the joints
on Your pictures excluding the solder fluid around.

I have to hurry now.

this thread makes me even more leary of buying used amps again in the future - unless I know for certain it wasn't modded/messed with by someone other than the manufacturer.

Hey guys.

I am the original owner of this head. I bought it off Nick at the Axe Palace. I opened it once to look inside and see the PCB. I did notice questionable solder joints, but I didn't make anything of it as A) I bought it new B)It sounded fine C) it operated fine.

Being that I was the only owner of this amp prior Chris, and the innards of this amp were completely and utterly untouched in every way imaginable, that really makes a mod job seem rather unrealistic.

How could you be

I bought it NEW, and if it DOES turn out to be modded...then that's really saying something.

Ok, now let´s me ask you a question.
Why should Diezel do s.th. like this? To loose their reputation just like that?

Once again, it seems you don´t now how amps are build. There is no need for them to replace resistors this way if the amp is still in their factory. It´s easier for everybody who works at Diezel to unmount the board if it is mounted to change the parts and get the amp done for shipping. Even more if there are so many parts to change. It´s simply logical.

You can really trust me. Peter is one of the most honest and friendliest guys i´ve ever met in my life. He is simply not that kind of guy to do jobs like these photos show. His employees also. If you somewhen get a chance to visit him (i know the US are far away ;) ) you´ll know what i´m talking about.

Hello Kayman,

I did a research on Your amp:

Angelika had to replace a few resistors because they had a wrong
value. I told her to remove the fluid around the solder joints in the
future to avoid a drama in the internet.
I give You my full warranty on the joints and when I´m in the States,
I will remove the fluid personally recorded by a webcam :D

Enjoy the sound of Your "special" solder joints.

Best regards,

Peter

Unfortunately the "special" joints are sounding like much of anything. It is good to know noobody "modded" the amp though. I am the actual owner of the amp now. The problem is that the amp is not working properly. I really need to get it fixed. What should I do? I could care less about the solder joints at this point or who built my amp ( I would like to meet Angelika :D ) I jsut want it fixed.

Whoops! ;)

It is fun to stir the pot....at HCAF where it is par for the course.

Gotta chime in here. That may be the case at H-C, but that's why we've migrated over to R-T.

How you portray yourself on the internet is how you are? Maybe you my friend but I can assure you that is not that case with everyone. I am not on the internet all day looking to be serious as hell like I have to be in my work life.

But portraying one's self untruly doesn't encourage good relationships, and is akin to lying - whether on the internet or not. Plus, many of us deal in gear. If I can't trust the other party (be it buyer or seller), IMHO that would really complicate a transaction.

I could care less how someone looks at me from my posts on an internet forum. It is the internet. I may meet 3 or 3 of you in my entire life. Why would i care if you thought I was "cool" or "mature" or a "troll"?

Hey guys,
I just wanted to at least chime in on this comment regarding mraajr and if he can be trusted for gear purchase/transaction. I recently traded some gear with him and everything went smooth. I just needed to put that out there. He is on his own with all the rest of this stuff!! Everybody may not like what he has to say, but I believe he can be trusted with a transaction.
Peace!

Sorry, now I´m confused. Is the # 001/1131 Your amp
and needs to be fixed ? That´s a complete different story.

Why didn´t You contact me that You have an issue with the
amp ?

Man i posted only facts i saw with my own eyes at Peter. Nothing else.
And i know how my Herbert looks like inside. Not more.

But this is the proof how honest Peter is.

It looks factory and it is not the reason why your amp does not work.
A good joint simply makes a solid connection. The flux/rosin is just
the nature of the beast. Below is a dead stock 2009 Herbert with the same resistors.
All the joints are soldered from the bottom, so if you need to change or rework it needs
to be done from the top. PERIOD !!!!

Let´s give me a break now.

First we had a thread about old vs new quality.

Then it went to fluid around solder joints.

Then somebody had good transaction with the thread starter.

Now we have a broken amp by the thread starter.

Guys, I would like to help everybody. Should we lock the
thread and start 4 new topics ?

I can look up the PMs and stuff from mid december, those were about tube sockets, Peter.

Oh dude...wasn't he complaining about the new herbert's quality?

Ich goenn mir mal ein Hefeweizen. Morgen Abitur...
