On a separate note, having checked this thread and the "related link" out, did Terry (aka Duolos) get the boot? If so, I'm sorry to hear/read that - he was nothing but professional and ultra-helpful and accommodating in my dealings with him.

Peace,
V.

PS - Yo Pauly...good call.

Not that I am aware of.

I have quite a few more. I am not saying that the amp is not wired correctly or that this is a problem. The only point of this thread was to point out that the older Herbert has nothing that even resembles the picture above.

Oh cmon man! Don´t be naiv!
Is that a new amp? I can tell you that it´s not.

A new amp is soldered downside. And this is soldered from upside. You dont have to be a Sherlock Holmes to see that.
This is a kind of mod, where somebody didnt had " the time" to unscrew the board and flip it.
So take a look inside a new amp buddy.

...And i thought you are talking about the soldering joints. These are no soldering joints!
Forget your critics. This isn´t really worth of any discussion.

Are you serious? So what you are saying is my entire amp has been rewired because this is how the wholoe board is dumbass!

I guess someone must have went through and rewired the whole amp :D

Maybe. Believe me or not bro, i was two times at the factory. I took a look in every amp. I saw all the boards without the chassis, assembled and not.
This was a crack who did mod modjob himself. This is the way i modded my dunlop cry baby.
But this is not the work of Peter Diezel or anybody at his factory.

Seriously...take a look into a unmodded Herbert. You´ll see nothing like this.

And watch at the different blue colours of the metall resistors. The "upside" soldered are dark blue. The stock ones are lighter.

Maybe? Thats absolutely ridiculous. This thing what built 6 months ago. There is no chance someone went through and rewired the whole board. You have got to be smoking crack!

Your thread is build quality ... old vs. new.

Where are the pictures of Your two Herberts ?
We are waiting for two days of Your pictures.

Do You have two Herberts or are You searching
for trouble ?

The pictures You post a is newer model and somebody
did replace resistors. I have no problem if the soldering
is tight.

Please give us a proof and tell me the serial numbers.

I remember Your words on HCAF: "Let´s go to Rig Talk
and have some fun". I assume Brad will stop this "fun"
soon.

You can send me also an email to peterdiezel (at)
diezelamplification (dot) com with Your full name
and address. I can find out the owner of nearly
all amps.

Post the serial numbers now.

I did not feel it neccesary to post pictures of peferct solder joints. I assumed you would take my word on that one. Send this to Brad if you would like. If someone has done work to this Herbert than that ends the thread. That is all I needed to know. Like I said numerous times before. I started this thread because this amp looked completely different on the inside than the old one. I never could have imagined an amp that was literally 4 months old when I got it could have been modified. I will take more pictures if would like Peter. I am not sure that I ever said the sockets had cold solder joints and if I did I was mistaken. But you should be able to see from the pictures my cause for concern. I apologize for ever implying that you build quality was anything less than outstanding. What can I do about this? I am sure the Original Owner will be chiming in soon too.

Here are the serial numbers of both. If you would like the original owners name of each just let me know. I have that also if you still do not beleive.

001/1131 and 001/193, respectively

Would you like me to make a Youtube video of me playing both of them too?

I'm curious if the resistors in the new model which have the questionable solder joints are of the same values as those in the old model?

I would like to know as well. THe amp sounds identical to the other one though. At least it did when it was working.

That screams of rework, you can even see the burn marks on other components as someone was in a hurry along with the resin that was left behind. Also the components on the top right were soldered correctly, as stated above, on the bottom side.

Ruhig Peter, ruhig. Gut wenn es solche Threads gibt, dann kann man darauf in Zukunft verweisen
und muss nicht alles neu aufrollen!

On this pic you see a stock Diezel Einstein

Now compare it with the one you posted (everything in the red circles is not original)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

I will check who was building the amps and
the quality of the Diezel member.

Btw I have no problems with the solder joints
on Your pictures excluding the solder fluid
around the area. And this doesn´t matter if
this was a mod on our workshop or made by
an US tech.

I have to go to work now and solder for
my income ;)
