Do you think that God actually exists?

I have wondered how much better the world might get along without religion.

This isn't a John Lennon song, smartass.

Nope...human nature dictates that we'd pick something else to fight about. There's a point in there somewhere..something along the lines of man creating religion.

You learned that from South Park, the episode about Cartman freezing himself to wake up in the future. Admit it. :)

I don't know. I see no evidence that God exists.

Well you could look at the abundance of nature, or how an apple and most fruit just happens to fit in your hand...

The Bible says God spoke to man all the time. Angels singing, booming voices burning bushes, etc etc.

God did speak directly to man until man decided he did not need God's law

How did the Bible get written by God if He didn't speak to Man?

The Bible says "all scripture is inspired of God"

What now? People make a bunch of stuff up and see Jesus in their pancake or spackle.

People tend to believe and see what they want to

Millions of years of evolution and/or designed by God....and THIS is what we have? SHouldn't we be better off? God made us for "Who wants to be a millionaire" and "Survivor" and "Deal or no deal"?

Again, God gave us one law originally, but we fucked with the tree of knowledge and picked the forbidden fruit. Please don't fail to see the symbolism in the text.

IN the end it's a fuilte conversation. The Bible and the preachers have every angle covered. All that is good is God, and anything bad is Satan and Man. It's a watertight win. Doesn't matter it is supposedly all designed by God.

Which came first, the Evil or the Man

If god couldn't or wouldn't do one dman thing for

The scipture says there will be a great tribulation(trial period)that will basically show everyones true colors. After the goats reveal themselves, then the end of that system will come. Note, not the end of the earth!

then what's the use? Why would God even exist? For an afterlife we don't even know occurs.

The tribulation period must end sometime, but not before all reasonable doubt is removed that we could somehow have our own law, instead of Gods.

And what about the afterlife? Eternal life with God? What is that? What do you do for eyernity? Tea and crumpets with Auntie M? Get teased abotu jacking off 3 times a week by Grandma? Jamming with J. Hendrix would be kinda cool. Do we sail the universe looking for a new experience?

I don't believe in heaven or hell, but the bible says after the tribulation that new books wil be opened and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. And crying will be no more, neither will pain or anguish, all the former things will have passed away.

And these are just a few of the many questions that plague me. God's way of giving me a hard road to faith, I guess.

It is written that none of us will be tested beyond our endurance

Also search "jessica lunsford" in your favorite engine.

It's easy to see how so many folks fear and/or hate the fairy tales that have been twisted by religion to get our approval. Again, I am stuck in the middle on this one, but I have made a study of it for many years. May try Budda next. They even give out good food at their temple ;)
Peace out,

Your quotes inside my quote is "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH"

It's a bunch of words but not saying anything. You keep vomiting the same vague blahness.

Look...Jesus said He was "for the children". That was just empty talk? Jesus *LET* Jessica be taken from her bed, boned by

story.couey.sun.pool.jpg

for three days.

Then buried alive in a trash bag underneath a trailer home....holding her teddy bear in one hand clawing through the platic and dirt with her other.

All so God could make sure his precisou free will and "tribulation" maintains integrity?

Sorry that's a crock of shit. That horrible experience makes hanging on the cross a trip to the library and a sno cone.

Take your pick: Be Jessica Lunsfod in her dying days, or be Jesus H. Christ in His.

And also thanks for proving my point that you got an answer for everything, no matter how vague or silly it really is.

God didn't f-up the world, we did. Freedom of choice is a real mother, but would you want a God that didn't give you that choice?

To me it's amazingly illogical to believe that the universe formed randomly. It's also illogical to believe that God created everything without scientific principles like evolution and adaptation. Why would God create some science but other things are left to the wave of a wand so to speak. Just my two cents.

I want a God that will back up what we say He says. :scared:

He supposedly took out Soddom and Gommorah, but wouldn't help Jessica, and a million other peopel that suffered?

God could have saved Jessica, one way or another (I'd rather she died BEFORE she got buried alive, for exmple), without ANY compromise of freewill. What a line of bullshit that is. Another scare tactic.

He's fucking GOD for godsakes, you'd think He'd be able to figure out a way to do it.

I can't say for sure but I can say that I am agnostic. On a personal level I don't like the idea of any one, thing, or whatever dictating my fate. I guess that says enough.

I notice someone talking about the universe forming at random. I don't think anyone ever said it did. I'm not sure why you think the only alternative to god is 'everything is random'. It's clear that evolution of the human species is anything but random. In any case, science can tell you a whole lot.

For me there are a lot of problems with the idea of a god. To me its more like a way to explain things that you can't be bothered to learn about.

A very astute note.

2 thousand years ago, we didn't know the Earth was round(well, the huge majority of humans, anyway :aww: ). We didn' know where the wind or clouds come from. We didn't know the universe didn't revolve around us. And so on.

But we put all our faith and trut that they knew God SO well? I don't fathom that.

We use God to explain what we can't. Then when someone questions THAT explanation, it's "God's way's are mysterious" and "all will be explained and vengence served in the next life".

Fine...accept that if you want. God gave me the will to not accept such a simplistic and vague words.

It is sad this happened. But make no mistake everything you said referring to God here is incorrect. Both spiritually and logically. Period!

Free will – fuck that. Ignorance and complete disregard for humanity, recklessness and stupidity, yes! Not freewill but what I just said.

With over a trillion stars and countless planets in our galaxy, how a rational intelligent human being not ponder or at the very least realize that there are other forms of life out there. Whatever they may be.

Think about it – it takes us years to send probes to Mars. And that's not even close to the thousands of light-years that it would take us to even get close to the outer radius of our own galaxy. We could never no matter what it takes to actually explore these vast distances.

There are billions and trillions of galaxies of planetary solar systems out there in our single Universe. Most, if not all reputable current astrophysicist believe that there are an infinite number of Universes that exist.

Do you honestly believe that some 60's dope head looking white guy with a head draped with rose thorns magically created all this bullshit?

Think…

People peddling their disbelief in GOD piss me off as much as people ringing my door bell and peddling their belief in GOD.

I believe you should go f#ck yourself :jerkit:

so you base your whole beliefs on God, based on something terrible that happened to one little girl?

Absolutely, the one thing that gets me about most people jabbing at God is how little they really know about the subject ;)

Now if they want to take a stab at religion, by all means! I'll even add in a few historical facts myself.

It was a Catholic belief that the world was flat. Remember them, the ones who tried to outlaw the Bible for many years...

DAMMITT!

But ...for me, you just can;t have it both ways...you can;t say God is all powerful, and then chose to not help the poor little girl, who's sacrifice was MUCH greater than Jesus'. She suffered and died for our free will, and didn't have the foreknowledge Jesus had.
