Get ready to be mad... the Fortin Killer Kali module is awesome!

Didn't Fortin also do the mods/design for the hiwatt Super 50? Seems like that would be bang for the buck and stretching your dollar.

Yes he did. I had one and while it did sound very nice in terms of the inherent tone/feel, it's a rather messy, noisy design. This could have been a really amazing amp if they had taken the time to clean it up and simplify the circuit a bit. The dual gains/masters kind of gets in the way a bit and the FX loop was super noisy. I contacted the custom shop and asked if they could build one that was single gain, single master, no switching, and just a simple insert loop. They never responded. It's a shame because I like the sound/tone of this circuit much more compared to all the other mods and mystery amps out there. It's probably one of the best 4-stage amps I've heard. Just needs some love to get it perfect.

I've been wanting to build one on a Marshall power section for a while. But haven't gotten around to really figuring it out just yet.

Maybe the PCB version they're coming out with has addressed all the quirks and issues?

I read something recently about putting the BE-Dlx in low gain mode, and then boosting it back up with an OD. I tried it, and I am getting more aggressive sounds out of it that way.
That's great but sort of defeats the purpose of having that module because an 800 and an OD will do that all day long. Sounds like friendman needs a " raw" or " teeth" toggle for his BE stuff

About what? The PCB version or the issues I had with the Custom shop model?
Sorry if that was vague, I do remember you talking about the noise issues and the effects loop...

But I had not heard the news about an updated PCB model. The super hi 50 has always flown under the radar really. Just curious for more info on this, and if there's been some press on a new release?

If kevin had any balls he just wouldve unplugged the amp while you were playing.
That would have actually been hilarious! No words, just walk over and unplug it then walk away!

I would have pissed myself laughing AND that would have been great video!

You handled that encounter with Kevin way more professionally than I would have. Kudos to you for not smacking the snot out of his nose.

No reason to talk that way at NAMM of all places.
Yeah man, sometimes you gotta let people be their own worst enemy. If I go buck wild, I’m never allowed back. Now he’s a bit immortalized as I’ll never pull the video and that behavior is out there forever. There’s not a person that’s seen it that hasn’t had the same reaction. 100’s of versions of “what the fuck was that guys problem??”

He did indeed. That amp is killer as well.

You handled that well Jer. It's almost a traumatic experience when someone stops you while jamming, just to yell at you. I remember the feeling with the ex wife. F that guy and his guitars.
Yeah it’s even more fucked when it’s someone you’ve been cool with for years. He really could have handled it way different.

In other news, check out Fortin’s post! lol!

I will be picking up a couple new Synergy modules when the new ones are released. The Fortin for sure, and I still want to see which new one Fryette has on the way as well.

Fryette is designing the Sound City module that I believe will be released this year. Was leaked by themselves by accident when showing off their new location on a whiteboard.

It is a trip to me that guy seemed like a mellow dude, felt bad for him with the bc rich thing. Turns out he’s a dick head.

Heads up I did post a Wizard video, my inexperience with the video stuff realized I screwed up my initial load so didn’t get to captures but plan on it in a few days.

Oh nice! Looking forward to the vid!

Yeah man, people are gonna people. There are literally dozens of other ways that could have been handled… I guess aggro was the choice that day.

That guy Kevin really should apologize for behavior like that. Maybe it was just his period
I won’t hold my breath! lol. I also don’t think there’s any point at this point. I don’t think for a second he’d feel like he wasn’t in the right. Who knows.

Iconic Guitars? I thought they went out of business. He did a video last year basically saying they got screwed over by BC Rich where they made a bunch of them and BC Rich canceled and never paid them.

They let go of everyone and were reorganizing. I felt bad for him and the people who lost their jobs.
I am not familiar with him or the company but sounds he was feeling the pressure to make a sale.

Here it is:

The Fortin post was hilarious but I'd give the Iconic guy some grace since it seems like maybe the company's had a rough couple of months.

About to get a whole lot worse acting like an ass on purpose in front of a video camera. I get we all have our bad days but that doesn't mean you go to a public event to show your ass.
