Get ready to be mad... the Fortin Killer Kali module is awesome!

Not gonna through 6 pages but to set the record straight Mike developed the mod and let Dan do it for EU/UK.

I gave my personal amp the name Killer Kali as an homage to my love for the 90s movie Kalifornia and it got used for everything going forward without my consent.

The Synergy module sounds insanely good.

This thing rips!!! So much so I got yelled at! LOL!

Sounds brittle and hollow.
Like a dry cracker.

No juice at all.
Which is sometimes okay...
Here, it needs more saturation.

Id get tired of this sound quickly I think ?

Might be the 20W power section of the SYN20 but it sounds like it needs a bit more push / umph.

That kinda sucks to hear man.

Module did sound good in the floor vids we've had so far; guess it'll sound even better through a bigger power amp.

Are you still working with Fortin?

The "Depth" mod on the Randall RM series ( and Synergy I am assuming) will come in handy for that but yes, I hear what you do. Then again in a mix..

You're Welcome .... ;)

Yes he did. I had one and while it did sound very nice in terms of the inherent tone/feel, it's a rather messy, noisy design. This could have been a really amazing amp if they had taken the time to clean it up and simplify the circuit a bit. The dual gains/masters kind of gets in the way a bit and the FX loop was super noisy. I contacted the custom shop and asked if they could build one that was single gain, single master, no switching, and just a simple insert loop. They never responded. It's a shame because I like the sound/tone of this circuit much more compared to all the other mods and mystery amps out there. It's probably one of the best 4-stage amps I've heard. Just needs some love to get it perfect.

I've been wanting to build one on a Marshall power section for a while. But haven't gotten around to really figuring it out just yet.

Maybe the PCB version they're coming out with has addressed all the quirks and issues?

Wait, wut?

A PCB version? Where does one find that intel? I don’t see it at the Brittamp site.

Please and thanks.

Ha! Thanks mate. I remember when I was sixteen, and I got my first show booked at an actual venue, I asked my step mom if I could stay out a little later so the guys in the band didn’t have to end their night driving me home early.

Of course she said “you know when curfew is…” then proceeded to ask “why are you even playing a concert? They’re not even your songs!”

Like the biggest news of my life at the time, but let’s go and kick it in the nuts… seems like a pattern for me!
